The George Guest House has been in the Ledger family since 1949.Obviously continually updating facilities over the years,we believe we offer a comfortable,relaxed place to stay,where you can come and go as you please.The current owners Nigel and Lita Ledger have a wealth of knowledge of Plymouth,Devon & Cornwall to ensure you enjoy your visit.

After years of working in the licensed trade(80 plus hours a week) we know just enjoy leisurly strolls around the ever changing waterfront,perhaps taking in a meal at one of Plymouths fine restaurants

Facing historic Plymouth Hoe,where drake played bowls whilst awaiting the Spanish Armada,As well as breathtaking views of Plymouth Sound,The Hoe provides a venue for a variety of events throughout the year including MTV crashes music festival,Armed forces events,classic car shows and much more.Also an excellant place to watch sailing events e.g. The Transat ,the national 3 day firework championships.We are also walking distance to the city centre,with its shopping ,theatre,restaurant and nightlife.Close by is The Barbican,historic harbour area with the Mayflower Steps from where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America almost 400 years ago.Boat trips leave from here for trips around the Royal Navy dockyard,the largest in western europe,or to the lovely beach village of Cawsand over in east Cornwall,or perhaps enjoy a couple of hours mackerel fishing on one of the local boats.The National Marine Aquarium is always a good place to visit on one of those rainy days.Numerous waterside bars and restaurants make this an ideal area to sit in the sun and watch the world go by.Ever changing The Ocean City of Plymouth has plenty to offer to all ages,all year round,come and enjoy.
