Check in was very straight forward and easy. We checked in on line and collected our keys later on in the day. All the staff we encountered were very nice and friendly. The rooms were lovely. Very clean and well spaced out with everything we needed for an overnight stay. We were traveling as two groups and had been put in rooms next to each other. Despite being above a busy pub, the rooms were nice and quiet. Until the dawn chorus of the seagulls that is! Breakfast was nice and plenty of options. The location is great. Very close to the long stay car park, so not far to walk with our cases. Also very close to the centre of Whitby.

Located in the center of Whitby, the George Hotel has 2 lively bars with Sky Sports and BT Sport on large screens and several entertainment nights per week. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi in public areas and all rooms.

Rooms at the George Hotel are decorated in bright, warm tones. Many come with private bathrooms and all feature a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee-making facilities.

The hotel bar serves a selection of wines and spirits as well as draft ales and fresh ground coffee. A carvery is served every Sunday.

  • Hi thinking of booking a double room from 14th June to 18th June for 2 adults. How many stairs for lowest floor please. We have some mobility issues.

    Hello, our lowest double room is located on the second floor of the hotel. There are 3 flights of stairs to these rooms so probably a little too many.

    We don't have our own parking but recommend the Marina Car park which is a long stay car park around a 5 minute walk away. More info on this can be found by searching Marina Back car park Whitby online (we are unable to post a link here!)
