The breakfast was excellent, great choices , well cooked and pleasantly served. As was the evening meal we had. Our room was beautiful, the only problem was it was very noisy. We could clearly hear the people in the next room talking and also the sounds of toilet flushing and water running.( This woke us up in the middle of the night. As it was a mews room we also had the noise of early risers moving around in the car park. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was just the noisy room which let it down

Fantastic food in the restaurant, beautiful rooms, exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. I was a bit concerned when I was told that breakfast on the Friday did not start until 8am as I thought this was a bit late for a week day and I wanted to leave the hotel quite early. However, I spoke to a gentleman at reception to ask if there was any way I could get something to eat a little earlier and he was so helpful, saying I could come down for breakfast at 7.30 which suited me perfectly.

The Golden Fleece is in a prime location in Thirsk. Lots of parking at the back of the hotel. We had a courtyard room which was comfortable, clean and reasonably easy to access. We would have preferred a walk-in shower, rather than a shower in the bath, but there was a grab handle for safety. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. Reception was friendly and helpful and service in the restaurant was very good. The evening menu was very good and freshly cooked.

  • Why have you took payment on 18March for 4 bookings in May23/24,June27/28, July25/26,August15/16, it a bit early, isn't it, not very pleased, as a frequent customer, I expect to be treated better, could be tempted to take my business elsewhere..

  • Hello, are dogs allowed in this room? We have a small dog who does not shed.
