A small Lake District market town with local shops and a 'stately home' in whose parkland one can walk for miles along mown paths. Lovely to see people sitting outside in the market place enjoying the recent hot weather. There is a one-way system for traffic as the roads are quite narrow. Plenty of space for parking when I was there.

Broughton is a charming, tiny, market town that has kept its farming character, unlike some Lakeland neighbours. There is everything the tourist most needs, but it feels like a real working town, not an overdeveloped honeypot. It has spectacular views over the estuary of Duddon Sands and is very convenient for the delightful Duddon Valley and Coniston Fells, one of the best parts of Lakeland for the visitor.

Broughton in Furness only has three pubs and both the King's Head and the Black Cock Inn are the two best ones with exceptionally high quality food. The village itself is tiny and is a step back in time as it's so old-fashioned - especially the Black Cock Inn as it's so cosy, ancient and charming. There's another pub 3 miles up the road in Broughton Mills that's even older than the Black Cock Inn - The Blacksmith Arms or something like that - and that's well worth checking out too !!!

We had fantastic holiday in this off the beaten track Lake District cottage! The cottage is beautiful, comfortable with everything you need. Phil is available if needed but very private. Good beds, good size for four. Location is amazing with walks and wild swimming on the doorsteps. The views are amazing from every rooms. Not too far either for shopping, beach and pubs… we will be back! Very clean. Good quality equipment including bbq, pizza oven etc!
Lovely quiet location. Good for exploring the southern lakes and other attractions in the area. A couple of walks from the farm included in the information pack, including one down to Broughton in Furness with it's lovely square. There is a shared lawn to the back of the property with plenty of benches.
Jean and Claire helped us out when we realised we had not packed some items, for which we were very grateful.
Lovely modern newly renovated cottage. Very cosy and convenient for pubs & shops.
We would definitely stay again although without our dog next time as it’s not really practical for pets with the garden not being enclosed and being right on the roadside which could be quite busy.
There are quite a few lovely local walks too.
Did the job, cute wee room above a traditional Cumbrian pub. Great place to stay if you also want to enjoy some real ales and Cumbrian food. The staff were all lovely and it had good heating (not always the case in these parts). The breakfast the next day was tasty and served in front of a roaring fire.
Beautiful location, with great fell walking routes, Broughton short drive away, has shops, superb butchers and pubs, Ulverston is a twenty minute drive away and has supermarkets etc. The Newstead Inn is a friendly old pub with loads of history.
It was a lovely little village with two great pubs and other amenities available. Plenty of parking available. The apartment was comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything needed to cook our own meals.
We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The room was comfortable and the food was delicious. The atmosphere of The Old Kings Head was wonderful and Broughton in Furness is a really lovely village.
Great location. Choice of pubs shops and cafes within 100 yds but also quiet and convenient for moubtain walks.
