Lovely little hotel, great staff, location and breakfast. We’ll stay again the next time we’re in York.
United KingdomVery friendly and hospitable staff, bedroom and bathroom immaculate. Courtyard area is particularly pretty. Can’t comment on the dinner as we ate out in the town. One thing to note, because of how central the hotel is, if you stay on a Saturday night be prepared for a loud wake-up call at 9.00 am in the shape of York Minster bells!!!
United KingdomWe felt our experience the second time of coming not up to what we were paying. Room very cramped so awkward for my husband to get around. Last year loved the room we had on the outside. Staff very friendly and helpful with cases etc.
CanadaIf you are looking for an historic inn with a great staff in a perfect location, this is the hotel for you. If you want clean and modern, avoid it. It's old and shabby and that's a lot of the charm. (The en suite is thankfully up to date 😃) Across the street from York Cathedral and near all the old and quaint of York, yet walkable to the train station. The staff was wonderful. The food was good, and it was a great little pub. I loved it. Would certainly stay here again, even if we do have to drag suitcases up a slanting staircase. 😃
