The owners went above and beyond to make sure that we felt safe during our stay! They sent us information in advance to let us know what to expect, all staff were wearing masks, there’s hand sanitizer at the entrance, one way circulation, contactless payment for check in and payment. The room was really clean, comfortable and very nice decorations. You’re in the middle of the town so it’s easy to walk to all the stores, and you’re also a 30-40 min walk from other very nice towns in the area. The food was great for both dinner and breakfast, and tables were spread out, waiters wearing face masks, controlled number of customers in and out and you need advanced bookings. We travelled with our French bulldog and they left us a bowl and treats for him at the room. We were very impressed with our stay and will be coming back for sure!! 100% recommend it!!

This traditional inn is in the Cotswold village of Burford, between Oxford and Cheltenham. It mixes original character with modern comforts, including free WiFi, rooms with attached bathroom and award-winning food.

The Highway Inn is in the center of the village, close to the River Windrush. Oxford and Cheltenham are both about 20 mi away.

Parts of the building date back to 1480 and the inn has traditional charm, with creaky floorboards, sloping floors and wooden beams.

  • Is your bar and restaurant open every day?

    Good afternoon Thank you for your equiry. Our bar is open from 12noon until 10pm (Sunday- Thursday) and until 11pm (Friday -Saturday). We are serving food from 12noon-3pm / 5.30pm-8.30pm(Monday-Thursday) and 12noon- 4pm/5.30pm-8.30pm(Friday - Sunday)

  • Hi, can you tell me where the car park is please. Is there a charge?

    We have no onsite parking, however all parking in Burford is free and there is a large car park at the bottom of the hill near the church

    There is a large parking lot at the bottom of the hill near the church. All parking in Buford is free. Across the road from the pub and down the side streets is unlimited. On our side of the road there's a 2 hour parking limit

  • Hi, we will be with a 3 month old baby. We don’t require an extra bed, so would we have to book the twin room or are we able to book the king?

    I am afraid we do not have a car park. All parking in Burford is free and a free car park is located within a 5 minute walk. All our rooms have en-suites.
