Marlow is a great town with interesting shops and a great selection of places to eat. As it is on the Thames there are lovely walks along the river and even a place to rent small boats by the hour. We especially enjoyed The Ivy and the delicatessen/coffee shop. The Two Brewers pub had a great atmosphere and good food.

Picturesque town on banks of river Thames.
Picturesque town on banks of river Thames. Pretty high street. Lots of choice for shopping and cafes/restaurants. Lovely walks in several directions and along with many eateries being dog friendly, it makes for a great place to bring your dog. The only down side was the large number of huge cars which made the drive over the bridge a bit slow due to these cars having issues getting through the width restrictions.

Lovely little waterside town with loads and loads of different places to eat & drink.
Lots of parking and some beautiful riverside walks to help build an appetite or walk off food.
We ate at the The Hand & Flowers and it was well worth the trip. Yes it is pricey to eat there, but we went for the fixed menu lunch which was amazing. Highly recommended for that special occasion.
It was our first visit and we will be back.

Marlow is a beautiful town, and would always recommend a visit at least once, in a lifetime. We have been visiting the Compleat Angler for 12 years, and overall recommend a stay. There is a possibility that if you return, your next stay may not be the same as the last.

Beautiful town on the banks of the Thames.
Beautiful town on the banks of the Thames. Lovely mix of town centre shops, pubs and eateries. Also comes with a large park area with pleasant walks along the river. Close to the M4 and M40 but you feel no where near the commuter highways
We were received by Tina on our arrival. Our first experience of a boutique hotel. Very slick! Room was cosy and clean. Good coffee & tea facilities, and snacks for the peckish. Even able to do catch-up on the TV! I liked the funky audio-visual key-code access. Crazy Fox e-mailed us several reminders of the code, so no excuse for getting it wrong! The included continental breakfast was perfect for us - Cereal, mixed fruit, proper fruit juice, yogurt, pastries, toast, spreads and hot drinks.
the staff at the restaurant were exceptional. the tea time table has left us wondering about the general setting and service as well. the room given to us was with the wall paper falling . total surprise as the property used to be well kept . we were place in a room side to the car park… what was a complete blow off . anyway we manage to enjoy the city and the warm welcoming of Marlow people. will sure comeback but not sure about Compleat Angler anymore. 🥲
Absolutely stunning hotel in a fantastic location. The building is like something out of a fairy tail from the driveway in up to the hotel. The grounds and the building itself are just perfect. The room we had was a standard room and we actually asked, upon leaving, if we had been upgraded it was that good but apparently no it was a standard. The staff were all fantastic and the food in the restaurant was some of the best we have ever had.
I loved the history of The Olde Bell from the monks that started it to Churchill having a bunker and using the library to work in. The area around the hotel was stunning and very historical and being able to relax in the gardens was fantastic. The bed was so comfortable too. I would definitely stay again.
Breakfast was fantastic, sausages tasted like they might be local farm produce. Very quiet hotel at night, peaceful night’s sleep. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very spacious and comfortable bed. Great shower.
gym was surprisingly good for a hotel gym, had quite a range of free weights and wasn't too busy, hotel room was quiet, clean and comfortable, shower was good, breakfast was good, check in and check out was good too
This hotel is excellent and located in a beautiful site on the river. The service, food and friendly staff are of a very high standard. Marlow is a good place to visit and a nice part of the country.
I booked this for my Mom’s birthday. My parents absolutely loved their stay, they thought the hotel was beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious.
Everything. The staff are friendly. The hotel is clean and beautiful. Our bedroom was more like a suite looking onto the gardens. Everyone in reception and the restaurant exceptional
