The location was stunning and easy to drive to Keswick, Grasmere and Windermere - great for hiking/kayaking. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed using the on site café facility

Imogen United Kingdom

Very friendly reception on booking in, great roon, comfortable bed. Walked to the local pud/restaurant for a lovely meal. Great breakfast selection. Fun to see the staff excited about the first snowfall of the year. Good location for travelling around the lakes, local walking and relaxing.

Michael United Kingdom

The staff were warm and welcoming and assisted me when I couldn't immediately find the hotel due to some road closures in the area and my well meaning but overly stubborn satnav. The location was quiet, peaceful and surrounded by mountains with easy access to some excellent hiking routes. The continental breakfast options were good. The shower facilities in my room were very high quality with a wealth of different settings which were very welcome after a punishing six hours waking and exploring. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The hotel also has Wi-Fi and a computer area for guests who may need it as well as a cafe on site and a good pub within walking distance.

Craig United Kingdom

I was a solo traveler from Kuwait, looking for a quiet place for a few days and I definitely found that in the lodge. Very nice place, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The location was also great, about midway between Keswick and Ambleside.

H Kuwait

The concierge was so friendly and helpful. She was very welcoming and accommodating.

Regina United States of America

It was my third time at this location with a group. I love this place. Hiking the mountain behind the lodge to watch the sunset has always been a highlight. We had to leave earlier than the breakfast time, so they packed us sack breakfasts. Nice people.

Paul United States of America

Clean facilities and courteous, efficient staff. Excellent breakfast.

Catriona United States of America

Amazing location , nicest staff, very clean room, easy parking.

Adel United Kingdom

Good value, especially compared with other options in the area.

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Lodge in the Vale. Its setting in the Lake District is perfect for the casual hiker and tourist. It is good value for money, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. They offer a great breakfast to start out your day. We will certainly book again!

    How does it work?

    • 1

      It starts with a booking

      It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

      Followed by a trip

      Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property, they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff is, and more.

    • 3

      And finally, a review

      And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.
