“A very personal service is given, even though it was a inn! Very quiet at night which suprised me. Its next to the train station, so theres to rains right up to 11pm, but after that its quiet as a mouse. The early trains didnt bother my partner or myself either. Breakfast staff were excellent too the lady that served me and did house keeping was a right card with a GSOH! Made you feel right at home. I only had cereal, but the cooked breakfast looked great. The cook was a lovely lad too. Made you feel very welcome and relaxed. Will stay there again if available.”

“The staff at the Mitre Inn were exceptional. We arrived very late due to the breakdown of my motorcycle but the Manager had stayed late to welcome us and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The next morning, at breakfast we were offered a takeaway lunch for our onward travel and the whole staff team, were supportive, kind and keen to help. I would say that the staff at the Mitre Inn provided the best customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel - 5 stars!!”

“Breakfast was superb and the rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nice touch with all the toiletries supplied. Although the Mitre is directly opposite the railway station, this was the most quaint/quirky little station and such a lovely surprise. The trains didn't bother us and they stopped overnight.”

The staff are friendly and helpful. So easy to get the train to other places too. We will be back.”
