“It would be difficult to find a friendlier place to stay. The owner and staff are lovely, rooms are warm and comfortable as are the beds. Food is good honest home style , just what's needed before and after a day on the fells. Samantha (!), is good to have a chat with, when she's not busy cleaning of course. I'm going back again. It's a perfect location for some super walks and easily reached by rail.”

“Very friendly and accommodating. Nothing too much trouble. The location is fantastic. It's on the Hawes to Sedbergh road but not too noisy. A good centre for some awesome walks. Food good too. I booked the budget room as the only one available but it was better than expected. Looking forward to going back.”

“Everything was great! lovely location with great views only a short drive to Hawes. Friendly staff, lovely breakfast. I was in the budget single room which was very cosy but had everything I needed, including a lovely hot shower. The bar was very quiet on the Monday night but on the Tuesday was the monthly quiz and the locals were very friendly. Would definitely stay there again - thank you!”

Unfortunately, I have to leave early to continue my hike and they were so kind enough to prepare early breakfast (before 6am) just when I am about to leave. I would love to explore the place next time. I booked this place because I was doing the dales way and this is the accommodation I found nearest on my trail”
