Very welcoming, breakfast was delicious, sleeping was comfortable. Couldn't fault anything and it was all straight forward.

The Great Escape was a really good place to stay and excellent value for money. The staff were all lovely, helpful and friendly. the breakfasts were superb. We also had dinner at the Oak PH in the evening and again the food was excellent and the evening staff were great. Great location just north of Rye which made 'getting around' during the day very easy.

This was our second stay at the Great Escape and we enjoyed it equally as much. The staff are exceptional and really do look after the guests, especially the youngest members of the family. Everyone is extremely friendly and cannot do enough to help. Breakfast in the pub was delicious. We hope to be back before too long!

Lovely, clean chalets.. with fresh jumbo towels and tea making facilities with a jug of milk in a fridge inside the chalets. Very friendly staff who welcomed us. ( especially Beth)Also the owner emailed us stating that there was a wedding on … didn’t even hear it. Would highly recommend staying here. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and plentiful I also liked the touch with the fresh croissant.

    Hello, it's extremely difficult to get around without your own transport...public transport is virtually non-existent and taxis can be scarce. I don't want to put you off but you would be better staying actually in Rye if you are coming by train. :-)

  • Hi, We've seen the only one left is a twin room, would it be posslbe to convert in double room?

    Hello, it is difficult.....the beds are wooden framed so do not push together. Our family rooms have one double bed and one single bed if that helps. Best wishes, Carmen

    Hello, yes our rooms are self-contained....they have their own front doors and do not share any common areas. During this interim period, breakfast is served in or outside your room or in the garden. Our onsite pub, The Oak, is also open for meals.

    Yes, all the chalets have showers. The Shepherds Hut also has a shower but it is not en suite. Thanks, Carmen

    Hello. All our rooms are chalets with the exception of our Shepherd's Hut - but unfortunately we don't allow pets. Locally, the Hare and Hounds, the Horse and Cart and the Flackley Ash all accept dogs :-) All the best, Carmen

With plenty of restaurants and bars still open in the area there is lots of choice of places to eat, with many offering a takeaway service. Being rural, there are lots of country/beach walks for those who do not want to be in close proximity to others!
