The Old Mill is an old property with loads of character that has been very sympathetically restored complete with modern facilities. David and Lorna are excellent hosts who provide great breakfasts and a welcoming atmosphere. This is one of the best B&B’s I have ever stayed in.

This was a lovely quiet B&B in a small village in Dorset. Our room was comfortable, nice and warm and the staff were kind and friendly. There was a small patio outside but too cold in January to enjoy. Refreshments were nicely organised and extras available and the breakfast was excellent.

    The Royal Oak is the pub in the village that caters for food. Please check their web site for latest info as being updated all the time.

    Hi, I'm afraid between March and the end of October we don't take dogs. However, when we're quiet we love to have well behaved guests with their canines! Regards David

  • Are the bathrooms en-suite? Do you have gluten free options for breakfast such as cereal, soya milk?
    Hi Yes, all our rooms are en-suite. 1st floor with walk in shower and a bath. 2nd floor with shower over bath. We would buy in cereal and soya milk especially with a request at time of booking. Much of our cooked is gf inc sausages.

The Old Mill was originally built around 1750 and was operational until the 1930's, when like many others it ceased operating as a Mill. Originally a flour mill, but the turn of the century it was being used to saw wood.
Originally working in the Automotive industry, we decided to relocate to Dorset to fulfill an ambitious lifestyle change.
Dorset has an abundance of interesting activities and sights to suit all tastes. We are lucky enough to have the Jurassic coast about 40 mins away and gorgeous Blue flagged sandy beaches and Bournemouth and Weymouth. Closer to home, and for many of our visitors we are ideally located for both Monkey World and The Tank Museum both in Bovington. In our village, Bere Regis, we have two pubs, a shop and a post office to meet the needs of our guests. There is also our Church, St John the Baptist, which is well worth a visit just to see the lovely wooden carvings of the 12 apostles in the roof dating from 1485
