“The location was convenient; I was visiting Durham but didn't want to pay city centre prices, so this suited me fine. The breakfast was tasty and filling. I saw very little of the staff as I didn't spend much time in the hotel, but those I met were very friendly and helpful. The whole venue was fresh and clean. The dining room had some quite characterful decor: I certainly knew I wasn't in a run of the mill hotel chain!”

“Breakfast was great - plenty of choice and flexibility. The food at the hotel is excellent, which is why this was our second visit. The rooms are comfortable and clean with all the extras you would expects such as tea, coffee and biscuits.”

“Normally we'd opt for the usual hotel chain "widely advertised by a comedian on the TV", but this place was comparable in quality and better value once the breakfast is factored in. The evening meal was top-notch pub-grub, and judging by how busy the place was, is popular with the locals. Ideally located a few minutes from the A1 Recommended.”

“I dont usually do reviews but in this case i feel must, hospitality has had a really bad time with covid as we know and unfortunately some now use this as an axcuse for poor service, not this place though from checking in at reception to having an oustanding evening meal and breakfast all the staff were terrific and will now be making this my base on my NE visits, i hope the locals appreciate just what they have avalable to them and continue to support this great place.”
