United KingdomThe location was a perfect place to set out and explore Dartmoor. Our room was fantastic with a nicely firm mattress, two chairs, a fridge and view of the town. Breakfast was superb with delicious fruit, traditional items and fresh juice. We enjoyed wandering down the streets and even on the moors beyond the cemetery.

They helped us store our bicycles for the night and it was lovely to chat to them while having their terrific breakfast. The location in the charming town of Moretonhampstead is excellent to explore Dartmoor, while offering a supermarket and several dining options in very close proximity.

The place is perfectly located to explore many areas in Dartmoor, and close to a number of lovely pubs and restaurants too. We will recommend to friends and family and would happily stay here again next time we are in the area.

Hi, Is the public parking free during weekends and bank holiday? many thanks ioanaThe car park is not free at weekends and bank holidays. It is £1 all day Sundays and costs a maximum of £3.70 for all day parking. There is no charge for overnight parking from 6 pm until 9 am and free parking from the end of October until April.Answered on August 9, 2021

The Old Post House has been welcoming guests from all over the world for over twenty years. The house was built in 1912 originally for the Post master with his brother, the bank manager, living in its 'twin' next door. This characterful house in the central position in town makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. Since 2021 we have been welcoming dogs to some of our rooms, please check with us that your booking is for a dog friendly room if you are planning to bring your pet with you.
Having hosted foreign students, friends and family for the past 25 years, we enjoy meeting new people and getting to know our guests on a personal level.
Here the landscape and scenery is outstanding. Walking up on the moors is incredible and a great place for cycling, biking and walking adventures. The slower pace of life gives the opportunity to relax and unwind, recharging the batteries.
