The breakfasts were lovely and so generous we had to downsize near the end of our stay as we were eating too much lovely Pembrokeshire food! We had the large king size room which was south facing so we got a beautiful view of rolling hills, and even sea glimpses to the west. The bed was huge and super comfy. Meg and Jaap were friendly and helpful, and we will miss our new furry friends too.
United KingdomA lovely, peaceful retreat near Cardigan Bay.Meg was the perfect host to look after all our needs and the breakfast was great!
United Kingdom0) The host is very friendly and helpful. 1) Very nice location up in the hills, with beautiful view and big garden, and just 10~15min drive to nearby town. 2) Very comfortable room, clean and spacious. 3) Nice common room with games, a piano, and lots of vinyls to play. 4) They have 2 beautiful cats and 1 joyous dog :D 5) Breakfast is delicious.
ChinaThe room and property- gorgeous and comfy. The food was fresh and delicious. The innkeepers, Meg and Jaap could not have been any kinder or more helpful. They clearly love what they do as it shines through every aspect of their hospitality.

United Kingdomlovely styling of the whole place the best breakfast I’ve ever had lovely welcome very dog friendly very clean quiet location great coffee and tea tray in the room comfy beds
United KingdomThe breakfast was excellent especially the really good quality bacon and sausages. In addition to my spacious room, there was a comfortable sitting room where you could relax after breakfast or during the evening. It was a character house with decor that combined good taste and comfort.

The Old Vicarage was built in 1907 and still retains many of the wonderful original Edwardian features. We have sympathetically renovated the house so that those features still shine through, with a touch of contemporary in our furnishings. The property is situated on a hill that looks across the valley towards the sea, in the summer especially the sunsets over the bay are beautiful. Luckily for us and our guests we are in a beautifully remote location but not really very far (10 mins by car) from either Newport (with big beach, lots of fabulous pubs and restaurants and interesting independent shops and galleries) or Cardigan & St Dogmaels which are slightly bigger but with plenty to keep you occupied.
Meg grew up in Pembrokeshire and has enjoyed a long career history in hospitality. This experience has been invaluable in the creation of The Old Vicarage B&B and has allowed them to jump in with both feet. Jaap who is originally from the Netherlands has lived in Pembrokeshire for over 14 years, by trade he runs a carpentry and joinery company but you can often find him in the kitchen helping out or out on his bike training for Iron Man Wales. Both Meg and Jaap enjoy spending time exploring in the great outdoors with their three children and what better base to use than The Old Vicarage.
We love were we live. We're a little bias but the North Pembrokeshire countryside is breathtaking, craggy cliffs meet rolling sand dunes, wild moors meet ancient forests and there is so much to do and explore whatever the weather. We particularly enjoy cycling, running and swimming in the sea. One of our favourite pastimes is finding fabulous places to eat, and we're never disappointed as locally there are lots of wonderful places to eat from delicious stone baked pizza on the River Teifi to more refined dining in Llysmeddyg, Newport. There is always something to do here whether it be walking, cycling, kayaking or catching a boat in Cardigan Bay to spot the dolphins just to name a few. There are always wonderful things for kids to go to, including but not limited to lots of great beaches! We'll help you plan a perfect holiday full of activities whatever it is you're interested in.
