“Room was very good - comfy and spacious. Shower a little weak - wont work on full - has to be on eco setting.. Hot the first night, mentioned to owner and instantly adjusted heat settings - so full marks to him. Food was good - enjoyed the meal - it was a little cold and exposed sitting next to the door to the kitchen - the other tables were next to the smelly gents loo, or the draughty back door. I think more care with layout and customer comfort would pay dividends.”

“What a place!! The room was huge and brilliantly equipped and clean. The staff were welcoming and very pleasant. The food was exceptional. The location couldn't be more central. All in all a great place to stay. Only 10 mins from Chatsworth House or Haddon Hall. Excellent array of shops, cafes and pubs on the doorstep.”

“Great location and comfortable room with a good sized bathroom, decent shower with nice stone wall, and TVs in both rooms. I liked the kettle and tea bags that were included. Good heating system to keep us nice and warm.”

“We arrived on what appeared to be their busiest day of the year but the staff were very attentive and eager to serve. The room was well presented. We didn't eat in the hotel unfortunately but the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The Manager advised us later that they'd done 280ish covers when they would normally do about 160 so that shows it must be good.”

“Beautiful and historic building, smart and very welcoming. Room was excellent, no complaints at all. Free to.come and go from property with no access issues once pub closed. Lots of options for food, drink and activities nearby. Great base for Chatsworth and great walking routes. Read a lot of re iews on her before we came....and decided to ignore them. Glad we did, ignore the negative reviews, I think some people expect Ritz quality and forget they are staying in an historic building!!”

“Parking is a bit tricky due to the location. I advise parking some streets away or using the 24hr car park. A note on the Nikki g would have Ben useful. Stunning good and very clean and comfortable accommodation. ”
