Known for colorful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and nearby Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racetrack, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guesthouses on Booking.com are also nearby.
Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric train, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.
A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.
Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping center and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. Arts + culture are big in Brighton, and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.
We have been to Brighton lots of times before. We revisited the Pavilion which was excellent. We had fish and chips on the pier also good. It was the school holidays so the shopping area was very busy. As we are pensioners we made full use of our bus passes on the excellent bus service travelling several times between hove, Brighton and Worthing. We out out at an excellent Persian restaurant called Shiraz in Hove.

Great beaches, perfect for relaxing on.
Great beaches, perfect for relaxing on. Shops are great and I loved wandering around and exploring the local area, the lanes and Brighton Pier. Amazing selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. If you’re looking for delicious pizza, Al Forno’s is amazing! Freshly made and super friendly staff! I walked everywhere during my visit but there are plenty of buses if you need to get around. Lots of attractions such as the sealife centre, zip line etc.

I'm a regular visitor, the live music is the main attraction for me with many great venues. Superb pub culture and selection. Then in the summer months nothing better than a lazy day on the naturist beach, in the evening a few drinks and some great food in the many restaurants and cafes. Best place ever for people watching.

If you are looking for the old type of guest houses, this is the place. The house is old and looks old, some of the doors have space under so anyone can fit anything inside easily. The room had traces of water infiltrations on the wall, the toilet seat was yellow in Room 8 looking as if it hasn't been changed in years. The room is little with minimal space to move. Sufficient for one night but wouldn't book again. Perhaps if they would refurbish the place. Thank you for trying.

Brighton , is an interesting town , however it’s a bit run down and littered . It could do with a thorough clean and more bins should be available to the public. I would also suggest families check the bathrooms of restaurants before ordering food .
My favourite restaurant to visit is Casa don carlos and I go there everytime I visit Brighton . Fab Tapas restaurant.

The Malmaison at Brighton Marina is an exceptional hotel and without a doubt the BEST I have ever stayed at. I had a front suite with balcony overlooking the beautiful Marina. The furnishings, quality of the rooms, bathrooms was absolutely 1st class and the decor and trendy lighting throughout the entire suite was stunning. All staff that I had dealings with were very efficient, friendly and could not do enough to help me when needed. I could not fault this hotel in any way, and plan to return again for a longer stay in the near future.
Need somewhere to stay in Brighton for work that was affordable. We read reviews and decided to go for it. Very cheap for a hotel a short way from the beach. Yes the decor was a bit dated, but these hotels did not have a good year last year with no income! Our room was spotless bed comfy. Yes we shared a toilet but only with one other room. It was spotless. The hotel was very quiet at night no disturbance at all. Breakfast continental and adequate. Would stay again!
The guesthouse has been curated with personality and thought. Amazing location amidst everything a short 3 minutes walk to either the beach or the nearest restaurant. We felt very safe - Tommy was a joy and had made us feel super relaxed and calm. Tommy was also on hand with recommendations of all the best places in Brighton.
Beds were super comfy and allowed us to recharge for the next day.
Will defiantly be back on our next trip to Brighton.
Location was superb. Right by the beach and close to all Brighton has to offer. Was only a short walk from the train station and located on the seafront.
Hotel was quite big, with a full bar and restaurant, although we didn't eat there, so I can't speak for the food. Room was satisfactory besides the noise.
I would definitely stay here again on our Brighton trip next month if it weren't for the negatives we experienced.
Beautiful, old, glamorous hotel. Right on the seafront and very close to town. We were seeing a show at the Brighton Centre which was right next door so perfectly placed. The best buffet breakfast I have ever had! The staff were extremely nice, efficient, friendly and very welcoming. Obviously they are happy at their work and this is nice to see and experience. Love the concierge uniform also - so stylish.
We stayed for 2 nights, and this is the cheapest hotel we found. Good value for money. very clean, water always stocked in fridge (which we are glad to know there is a small fridge), floors are not carpeted which I prefer. very close to the beach and restaurants. very friendly staff! even asked us if we need anything more upon checking out.
would stay here again if we go back to brighton.
Great friendly welcome, cosy and interesting lounge/breakfast room - lots of artwork. The decor lives up to the hotel's name! Room a good size, very comfy bed, hot shower, air conditioning a huge bonus. Lovely breakfast - including vegetarian. Parking in nearby Regency Square. Very good value. Have stayed in many similar hotels in Brighton and found this one of the best.
Everything was expected. The staff were helpful and friendly.
For me the room was exceptionally clean. The bed was firm, which was great. Modern clean bathroom with clean towels.
Now the breakfast! Its delivered to your room and and is one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had! I look forward to staying again:-)
Very nostalgic and nice hotel in a great spot of Brighton. Our room was with sea view overlooking the Pier and the beach and we had such a nice time while watching outside sitting on our armchairs in the room. The bed was comfy. The room was spacious. The breakfast was very good. The staff were really helpful.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, local stores and the railway station. The room was comfortable and fairly clean. The buffet has several options for breakfast, baked beans, sausages, scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, ham, cereals, muffins, cheese and juice.
We needed 3 single beds in same room which isn’t easy to find.
Location was away from the centre of Brighton - Hove beach was quiet compared to Brighton beach which was packed.
The hotel doesn’t do breakfast but there are great places to eat nearby. The other meals at the hotel were great.
The room is a clean one in general, and staff was excellent. The hotel sits a bit far from the beach, but it wasn't a long walk to places. Breakfast wasn't included, which gave us the chance to explore some other cafes - and there were a lot of great ones just a few steps from the hotel.
The hotel was overall better than expected it was very clean overall friendly staff good value for money for Brighton great location near the seafront good size room decent breakfast included in the price.
Free parking availability a big plus. Balcony right on sea front, probably best located sea front hotel in Brighton.
Bar was open quite late, but sadly didn't do bar snacks late
Room was near the lifts and on a frequently used corridor which was quite noisy. It wasn't unexptected - the cheapest hotel room in brighton on a friday night, after all.
Excellent staff, lovely breakfast, fabulous aromatherapy massage treatments. Every member of staff was welcoming and realised that we had stayed at the hotel before.
Location is great, 10 min walk into centre of Brighton, great pubs and restaurants either side of hotel and 2 min walk to seafront if you want to go beach.
