“There is nothing fancy about the Raven Inn -- just fun. The rooms are small, the building is old, but everything functions and the pub fare is decent. What makes it special is the ownership; the people of Llanarmon-yn-ial. Like the small general store next door, the Raven Inn is community-owned and operated, and it is a lively and welcoming place because of that. Rather than see the pub close, the villagers decided to buy it and run it themselves, and this has brought them together in ways they didn't expect. Lorna, the manager, went far out of her way to be helpful to us, despite having to set up for an elaborate community-wide event that evening. So, besides offering a convenient resting point on the Offa's Dyke Path, the Raven Inn represents something a little more than just a place to sleep for a night - a chance to participate in a community's energetic effort to keep itself going.”

The pub was open for drinks, and although they only serve food Thursday - Sunday, the room had a microwave and crockery. There is also a little village shop (open 8-4 most days), so we were able to refresh our supplies before continuing our walk.”
