Needs a serious update. Carpets were disgusting and needed a good clean. Didn't want to walk bare foot on it. Net curtains all torn. Couldn't get any food as kitchen had no chef. So had to go out in evening to find something. Would have been nice to be informed before we stayed there. Not worth money very disappointed with place.

Walking the North Downs Way it seemed a good idea to stay at the Roebuck Inn. However they don't do evening meals and if there wasn't an Indian restaurant round the corner I would have been very hungry.

we stayed for 3 nights over the easter bank holiday but on arriving at the pub with checking in we found that the current owners have left and the pub is being run temporally by one woman. we where taken to our rooms to be greeted with dirty carpets that have not been hovered or with stains all around, inch thick dust , the smell of damp and the ceiling rotting away in some corners, two single beds and not a double. the bathroom had a mouldy shower curtain mould all over the taps. in order to air the toilet the only way to keep the bathroom window open was to use a cup or toilet roll. after this we where told then by the temp staff that there is no food served at the roebuck due to no staff only breakfast at a charge of £13 per person per night?. the pub/hotel/restaurant is falling apart and dirty even a struggle to sit in the bar as only serving drinks no bar snacks of any kind. thankfully co-op store across the road. a real shame it is the only pub in the village and told by locals not to stay and use the Indian resturant for drinks. relief staff member is doing the best she can on her own and friendly.
