Like most seaside accommodation I was expecting it to be a bit run down and was delighted to find my room was newly refurbished to a high standard with a very smart en-suite and good free Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels appeared new.

The Royal Clarence Hotel (on the Seafront) is the only hotel located opposite the beach in Burnham-on-Sea. Free WiFi is available in all areas of the Hotel. Two self-catering holiday rental apartments are also available. They are located on the ground floor of the property. There are several restaurants, cafes and pubs located within a 2-minute walk of the hotel and guests are welcome to bring takeaway food back to be consumed in the first floor seafront veranda. The property also has 2 vending machines offering sweets, snacks and drinks. The hotel is located just 2 miles from junction 22 of the M5 motorway. Hinkley Point C Park and Ride is 6 miles away and can be viewed from Bridgwater Bay. Championship Golf can be played at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club which is a 5-minute drive away. The Somerset Rebels speedway team are located 3 miles from the hotel. Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral, Weston-super-Mare, Clarkes Village and Taunton can be reached in under 30 minutes. Highbridge train station is 2.3 miles away.

Reception closes at 18:00 each evening, however, there is a self check-in system for guests arriving out of hours.
When Reception is closed later, guests can make use of our user-friendly SELF CHECK-IN system to arrive at a convenient time.
If a guest has not arrived when we move to the Self Check-In system we will CALL, send a TEXT MESSAGE or leave a VOICEMAIL. If we don't have a valid UK mobile phone number or we cannot make contact by telephone, we will send an EMAIL. This must be arranged by Reception & the Guest by 1900 hrs to be considered in place, please do not assume otherwise and simply arrive late, thanks.
We cannot guarantee your admission into the hotel if not arranged by 1900. We will provide a Safe Number and a Safe Code. Guests use those details to access one of our key safes located just inside the main entrance. The room key card will be inside the safe
The central heating operates from 06:00 to 10:00 and from 17:00 to 23:00. Guests who require additional heating outside these times may hire a portable heater from reception during opening hours.
Guests are welcome to bring takeaway food back to the property to eat on the first floor seafront veranda. Plates, cutlery, napkins, glassware and a microwave are provided.
Please note that there is no elevator within the property. Guests with mobility concerns should contact the property to discuss arrangements prior to booking.
