“I stayed here on my way to Whitby.....This is a surprisingly large, historic hotel in Helmsley's main market square.....It was lovingly maintained and well run (although I wished the restaurant served at least until 9pm though)......Plenty of free parking in the square after 6pm...The room was spacious, clean, and had a large window that allowed lots of fresh air....There are many restaurants, shops, and pubs in the square, and the Helmsley Castle ruins are in easy walking distance....I would definitely stay here again....”

“That our dog was welcome in the bar and bedroom. Water bowl supplied in bar. The dinner was good quality and more than adequate in size. A full breakfast was available but we only have cereal (plenty of choice) with tea and coffee. The tea and coffee making machine delivered good quality. The bed was comfortable with good supporting pillows. The bathroom although small was adequate”

“Staff where really nice and welcoming, the barman Ben told us all we needed to know about the surrounding area and where was best to go, he was very friendly and chatty. The hotel itself was a lovely place very clean and welcoming, had a lovely atmosphere. The room was very clean and lovely decor, there was an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, heater and spare pillows in the room. Plenty of tea, coffee supplies and bottles of water. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. ”
