The Royal Oak and surroundings is SO peaceful. Our room was the disabled one on the GF as we brought out dog, room very good size and lovely outlook. Even though it was by the external doors and a door leading into the restaurant there was hardly any noise at all. The staff were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We had a sandwich and coffee for lunch one day while waiting for our room to be ready (they got it ready early for us), the coffee was excellent and the sandwiches delicious. I must say the breakfast was outstanding both mornings, and the waitress very attentive. As the restaurant wasn't doing the Eat Out to Help Out scheme we didn't dine in the evening, but I bet the food would have been amazing! WIFI is intermittent (we couldn't get any in our room) but we liked that as you could properly switch off from the world.

I would recommend anyone who loves beautiful scenery and friendly welcoming people go to the royal oak . Myself and my husband will definitely be going back.

United KingdomIt’s not often you get the full package at a hotel so fairly priced, but the room was outstanding, as was the food both dinner and breakfast and the staff were brilliant too. Can not fault it and can’t wait to come back!
