The bedroom and bathrooms were beautifully decorated. Attention to detail was amazing I e. Relaxing radio station and heating left on for our arrival, plus natural lavender spray to aid sleep. Comfortable beds and pillows . Good food .

This 19th-century coaching inn is located between Matlock and Buxton in the heart of the Peak District. Located in the center of Bakewell's historic market town, the property is easily accessible for visiting Haddon Hall, a 5-minute drive away.

Located on the edge of the Chatsworth Estate, Chatsworth House can be reached by a short 10-minute drive.

Rooms are located either in the beautiful main building or the courtyard. Each room is decorated to a high standard and refurbished in 2020.

Our Eatery Restaurant offers exciting menus, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel has its own Coffee House serving a variety of coffees and specialist teas for all tastes. If you would prefer something different then the hotels bar offers a selection of gins, whiskeys, ales and so much more.

Depending on the weather there is a small outside terraced area for guests to enjoy the local atmosphere.

  • Hi do you have parking at the hotel

    Our car-park can easily be found; take the Buxton exit off the roundabout in the centre of Bakewell and turn immediately right. Parking is limited and unsupervised. Alternate overnight pay and display parking is available in the town. Warm Regards,

  • How far is the hotel from the Monsal trail we would like to bring our bikes to cycle

    The railway line from Bakewell to Buxton became the Monsal Trail. It starts on Station Road about 5mins by bicycle from the Rutland

    Some guests have pet allergies, we therefore have specific rooms for dogs. For ease of access, we use our ground floor rooms as dog friendly. These rooms are Classic Double or Classic Twin. Please check availability before making a booking.

    Our Classic Small Doubles are recommended for a single traveler. They will accommodate 2 people, but please be aware they are a double-size bed, rather than the king-size in a Classic Double room.
