Our cottages are furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard and hold Visit England Gold Awards. Located only a few minutes stroll from breath-taking Camber Sands beach, they are the perfect seaside retreat for couples, small families, friends and dogs, the perfect get-away.

I’m Carol, the owner of The Salty Dog and Rock Lobster holiday cottages at Camber Sands. I have enjoyed spending time at Camber since I was a small child visiting family in the area and indeed I still have family living nearby. We stay in our holiday cottages regularly, often spending time catching up with family and friends there. I love to walk on the beach with my dog, a springer spaniel called Chloe, particularly in the early morning when the sun is low in the sky and the beach is deserted. Later in the day we usually like to pop into Rye, we never tire of exploring all the independent shops or just wandering through the pretty cobbled streets. It’s easy to pick up small gifts for birthdays or Christmas here with so much choice and it’s always tempting to stop for lunch or afternoon tea too with so many lovely pubs, restaurants, tea shops and coffee shops. In the evening we usually like to take another stroll along the beach with Chloe and then call in at our local, The Owl, for a beer and to catch up on the local news on our way back to the cottage where we might enjoy a simple dinner of fresh fish or locally reared Romney Marsh lamb.

The cottages are within easy walking distance of a couple of nice restaurants including The Gallivant, The Dunes Bar and the Rye Bay Cafe. The local pub, The Owl, also serves excellent home cooked meals and a good selection of well kept ales and welcomes children and dogs. There are a couple of small grocery stores in Camber and an excellent farm shop at Salts Farm two miles away. The medieval town of Rye with its quaint streets and ancient buildings is only 3 miles away. This pretty little hill top town was once the haunt of smugglers and is steeped in history. The cobbled streets are now lined with unique, independent shops, art galleries, artisan food shops, historic inns, restaurants and tea shops. Camber Sands is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts. Kite surfing, sailing, wind surfing, sand yachting, wake boarding, water skiing and jet skiing are all available locally either from the beach or on the large coastal lakes just outside Camber.
