the room was a reasonable size with a very nice carpet and a comfy bed with a selection of sheets. I was able to get a good nights sleep. There was even ground coffee as well as instant coffee in the room. This was excellent. I also liked the breakfast, because we had a choice of mackerel and kipper as an alternative to a fried breakfast.

On Lowestoft seafront, The Sandcastle is a Victorian house overlooking the sandy beach. It is a flat, 10-minute walk from the middle of Lowestoft, and serves home-cooked breakfasts made with local produce. Each pretty bedroom has a different décor, but all have a Sony TV and free Wi-Fi. Some bedrooms have views out over the sea. Bathrooms are inside or outside the room, and some have unique power showers. The Sandcastle's friendly owners have created a relaxed atmosphere, and serve a full breakfast in the morning. Eggs and meat are from local farms, and the kippers are from a Lowestoft smokehouse. There are also homemade marmalade and jams to try. Lowestoft Train Station is less than half a mile away, and has a direct service to Norwich. Pubs, bars and eating places can all be reached by foot.
