The balcony at the side is a lovely touch, perfect for morning coffee, we managed to get our apartment early which was fab.

Host Info
The Shelbourne in Southport has been in our family for over 35 years - when Norman spotted its potential as a Hotel and great place to stay! Since 1980 it has been through extension, expansion, re-furbishment and re-building and hosted many happy events - including many weddings, parties and serving great real ale!. Now, it is considerably quieter and converted into 9 individual 2-bedroom apartments - still in a great position and still hosting happy times for the families and groups staying with us.
We like sunsets, wildlife, Wetherspoons and waves :) Note that we don't live on site - but we do live just round the corner - so are mostly always on hand if you need anything!
We are in a great position - just over the road from Morrisons Supermarket (but not too near the entrance), Asian restaurant directly over the road, lovely Boulevard West bar (with tapas) next to that and then Flutterby and the Cleveland Cafe for traditional home-cooked food. Then we have a Papa John's, Bingo, B&Ms and then Wetherspoons (the Sir Henry Seagrave) all within 5 mins walk. If you walk towards the sea then you get to Victoria Park first (which hosts lots of events including Southport Flower Show, Musical Fireworks Championship, Food & Drink Festival, Summer Pops, 5k, 10k runs etc and Cycling competitions. Carrying on to the sea wall you will then pass Dunes Splashworld which swimming pools and big slides etc. and then finally to the sea (if you are lucky) and definitely lots of sand. To your right you will find Southport Pleasureland with fairground rides and games, past the go-cart track and then onto Ocean Plaza with a big Vue cinema, 10-pin bowling and lots more restaurants. At this point you can get onto Southport Pier - at the end of which there is an old Penny arcade and great views across to Wales, Blackpool and the Lake District.
