    There's 5 steps into the building, where a long wheelchair ramp can be added for you. Then there's a lift & stairs to the 1st/2nd floor. Regards Dave

  • What room is available please? We’re looking to hook 26-20th Aug and it stated 1 room left? Only we will be bringing a small dog. Thank you

    If you mean 26-30th August I'm afraid we don't have that last night available. Just 26-29th, in Apartment 3, which is our 2nd floor penthouse apartment - with access by stairs and lift. Many dog owners have stayed here before.

  • hi I see the cancellation is till the 8th June, what happens if covid rules change again between the 8th and arrival date which results in no travel

    Hi, If Covid restrictions mean you cannot travel to us then cancellation or postponement will be free of charge. We're not sure what June 8th refers to? But anyway, that is our Covid cancellation policy.

  • I'm looking at booking a 4 night stay mon June 4th -10 22. I would need a wheelchair accessible .6 adults, do you have availability? arepets allowed

    Yes, our '3-bedroom' & our 'penthouse' apartment are available for those dates. Clean, well-behaved pets are allowed. For your full stay we'd provide a wheelchair ramp on the wide steps up to the apartments. Once inside, there is a lift to all floors

    Hi, Apartment 2 is the one that's available for those 3 nights. There is a large communal entrance hall for Apartments 1, 2 & 3. Then there are stairs to Apartment 2, on the 1st floor, or there's also a lift. Dave

  • Is this apartment suitable for my husband who can walk with a walker but we need to bring a wheelchair for when we go out

    All apts are different, but most would be suitable. Once inside the apartment everything is on a level. All except apts 4, 8 & 9 which have several stairs/steps, but no lift. There are some steps outside the apt buildings -but we do provide a ramp.

  • Hello, I’d like to book an apartment for a friend and myself who has a small dog. She has mobility problems. I which is the best one?

    Apts 1 & 5 are both ground floor with garden access - so easy to 'let the dog out'. There are a few steps up into the apt buildings (with handrail), but if needed a wheelchair ramp can be set down for you. Once inside, all apts are spacious.

  • Have you got availability for a room which has access for the garden as I would like to bring our small dog?

    The apartments with easiest garden access are our ground floor apartments - we call them Apt 1, 4, 5 & 8. On B.com they are referred to as Ground Floor Apt, Duplex Apt and two are called Apartment - Ground Floor. We accept dogs in all apartments.

The Shelbourne in Southport has been in our family for over 35 years - when Norman spotted its potential as a Hotel and great place to stay! Since 1980 it has been through extension, expansion, re-furbishment and re-building and hosted many happy events - including many weddings, parties and serving great real ale!. Now, it is considerably quieter and converted into 9 individual 2-bedroom apartments - still in a great position and still hosting happy times for the families and groups staying with us.

We like sunsets, wildlife, Wetherspoons and waves :) Note that we don't live on site - but we do live just round the corner - so are mostly always on hand if you need anything!

We are in a great position - just over the road from Morrisons Supermarket (but not too near the entrance), Asian restaurant directly over the road, lovely Boulevard West bar (with tapas) next to that and then Flutterby and the Cleveland Cafe for traditional home-cooked food. Then we have a Papa John's, Bingo, B&Ms and then Wetherspoons (the Sir Henry Seagrave) all within 5 mins walk. If you walk towards the sea then you get to Victoria Park first (which hosts lots of events including Southport Flower Show, Musical Fireworks Championship, Food & Drink Festival, Summer Pops, 5k, 10k runs etc and Cycling competitions. Carrying on to the sea wall you will then pass Dunes Splashworld which swimming pools and big slides etc. and then finally to the sea (if you are lucky) and definitely lots of sand. To your right you will find Southport Pleasureland with fairground rides and games, past the go-cart track and then onto Ocean Plaza with a big Vue cinema, 10-pin bowling and lots more restaurants. At this point you can get onto Southport Pier - at the end of which there is an old Penny arcade and great views across to Wales, Blackpool and the Lake District.
