Beautiful view from the lounge. Very rural atmosphere. The friendly hosts left a few welcoming items (eggs, some cake, milk and tea) to start your stay. The hosts also sell some farm produce - I recommend the sausages! Visits from the farms guinea fowl and the duck on the pond. Very well equipped accommodation.

The Shippen is a single-storey cottage converted from a barn on a traditional Devon farm near the little town of Colyton. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, a double and twin, with a family bathroom. On the same level is an open plan living space with seating area with wood burning stove, dining area, kitchen and door to a adjacent scullery houses washing machine and tumble drier. Outside is also a big shared lawn with barbecue and a games barn. Four miles from Colyton, The Shippen is a welcoming cottage for a fabulous Devon break. 2 Dogs accepted fee charged for second. Note: This property can be booked with The Linney (976057) and Battens (976059) and together they sleep 14.

Neighborhood info

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction
