In the heart of the picturesque market town of Peebles, The Tontine is a family-run property which provides home-baked sweets and shortbread and elegant rooms. The Georgian Adam Room restaurant enjoys hill views and serves a weekly changing menu.

With warm, classic décor, rooms at The Tontine all offer an en suite TV and a hairdryer. Guests can relax with free tea and coffee and a TV in the room. Some rooms boast lovely views of the River Tweed.

  • Hi. We will be arriving on a motorbike. Is the car park secure please?

    For motorbikes we would recommend parking between the two buildings of the hotel as this provides an area which is not easily seen by passers-by. If you need help finding this please check with reception on arrival.

  • Hi. If we book your hotel on 18/19 July can you tell me whether I could organise a days fishing fir my husband. He has kit, license etc Thanks.

    Currently our check in time is from 3.00pm to allow our Housekeeping team the additional time required to complete rooms to a high standard. Check out is by 10.00am each day.

  • do you have a secure lockup for mountain bikes, or do they need to be left on your vehicle? is the carpark CCTV monitored and secure?

    We do not recommend that guests leave bikes attached to or stored in their vehicle overnight. We have secure bike storage to the rear of the hotel, this is CCTV monitored and secured with an electromagnetic cage. Please ask at reception for access

    Unfortunately none of our bedrooms have been adapted for wheelchair accessibility. We do have ten rooms accessible by lift and some of these are equipped with a walk in shower. We would recommend you call the hotel to discuss your requirements

    Breakfast can be added for £7.50 per person and include a full-cooked option with tea, coffee and toast as well as fruit, yogurt and cereals available on request. Guests opting for breakfast without prior booking would be charged £10.25 per person

    We are still able to provide a cooked breakfast. We do ask that guests confirm a preferred breakfast time prior to arrival where possible, to allow us to space sittings and assist with distancing.
