We stayed one night for my stepdad's birthday, booked two rooms.
Really well located just off the main high street in Bedale. There's a long stay car park across the road that is free of charge. A friendly welcome from the landlords and their two beautiful (one more excitable than the other) staffies who live in the bar (if you're not a dog person this place is not for you). Well stocked bar and a lovely little beer garden out back. I was particularly taken with the decorations in one of the ladies loos :)
Lovely bright rooms, really clean and welcoming. Our bathroom was massive too.
Breakfast the next morning was plentiful - fruit, cereal and yoghurt available on the bar with juices and hot drinks, with a full English cooked to order, and it's huge so you best be hungry!
All in all a lovely stay and would totally recommend.

A nice village for essentials but no family type pubs for eating. most pubs etc closed for food at 7-00pm which is no good after a day out further afield or after swimming at tea time. the leisure centre was lovely, clean and reasonably priced.

Pretty market town. Some nice independent stores.
Pretty market town. Some nice independent stores. Close to Yorks Dales to the West and Yorks Moors just on the East. Great location for access to many areas of interest and only a few mins from the A1.
Recommend The Wensleydale Heifer at West Witton - 25 mins away. Great place for a couple to eat if you appreciate nice food and service - but quite £££ so be prepared. You do get what you pay for.
College Court was a lovely place. It was very clean, everything you could need was provided, the location was great - an easy 5 minutes walk to Bedale High Street, there was allocated parking immediately outside and also a garage if needed. The garden was well maintained , and seating and a table were provided - it would be lovely in summer.
The communication from the owner was good, and very prompt, and the information he provided was clear and helpful too.
Highly recommended.
Easy to find a via satnav and not far from Bedale. Well signposted. Very friendly host.
& lovely dogs etc
Charming situation, with great resources for both people staying in cottages and fab facilities for the campsite. (Loved the idea of the lending scheme, even though we didn't actually use it. It meant the cottages were kept tidy, but we could access anything more we needed)
The landlady was wonderful, a very genuine hard working business owner who always had a smile on her face.
Our room was fine, spotless and comfortable which was all we needed after a day and night on the beer in Bedale!
I had a full English breakfast which was great, help yourself to tea and coffee, yoghurt and cereal were also available.
We'll definitely visit again.

We were visiting Catterick Garrison for a pass-out parade and found Bedale an ideal location and the Green Dragon turned out to be every thing we needed. We ate in the hotel on the evening and found a good selection of pub meals. The breakfast was super, freshly cooked to order.
A little gem in the heart of bedale, fab quaint cottage with everything you need. If you've forgotten a thing or two your a stones throw away from the shop to grab it.
The cottage was clean and tidy with a lovely homely feel, definitely somewhere we would revisit ☺️
we stayed in this property as we were visiting the polar express experience. this hotel was initially picked for location but when we arrived we realised we had came across a wee gem . location was perfect , staff were very friendly and totally went out their way
What a lovely hotel!
Rooms were beautiful with plenty of space.
We had dinner and I must say the Chicken & Stilton pie was delicious :-)
Breakfast wasn't large but was delicious and just the right amount for me.
Staff & customers very friendly & welcoming.
Excellent quiet place, with just a short drive or walk to centre of Bedale. Host was friendly and welcoming. Overall a great place to stay in North Yorkshire if you want a quiet holiday with good access to the Dales and North York Moors national parks.
A wonderful warm welcome from Mandy at this lovely property, excellently located next to the A1, but with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales. Fabulous cooked breakfast and superb pub next door, with interesting and extensive menu
Lovely host, place and landscape. Nothing not to like. Normally check into 4/5 star hotels but here gives it a run for there money in all areas. Wonderful change and location to explore many areas around by car.
We love this place and have visited 5 times over the years. It’s fairly remote in a beautiful village but love that, we just do the 4 mile (approx) walk into Bedale or Masham. The food in the pub is delicious!
The breakfast was substantial and good quality. The service was always fast and friendly. The Bedale area and other villages are lovely. The local people are also very friendly.
