In the Suffolk countryside, between Bury St. Edmunds and Sudbury, this beautiful 15th-century building offers 4-star accommodations and a restaurant with 2 AA Rosettes for its fine food.

Lavenham is one of the best-preserved Tudor villages in Britain, and The Swan Hotel & Spa is perhaps one of England's finest historic hotels. The building has been carefully restored and beautifully renovated, with ancient oak beams, large open fireplaces and a minstrel gallery.

Decorated in warm, relaxing colors, the rooms with attached bathroom combine period features with modern facilities. Each includes a flat-screen plasma TV and facilities for making tea and coffee. The on site Weavers' House Spa has 6 treatment rooms, 2 relaxation suites, a sauna, steam room, spa boutique and an outdoor vitality pool and terrace.

The Swan Hotel & Spa serves modern British cuisine in its Gallery Restaurant, made using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Prior reservation is recommended.   • Are all facilities, particularly the restaurant, open in view of Covid?

    All facilities are open, the restaurants have slightly reduced menus at the moment. The spa will not be able to open until September.

  • are you dog friendly?

    We accept dogs in our bedrooms for £10 per dog per night, they are permitted in the bar and lounge but not in either restaurant.

  • Can you add three nights dinners to my booking

    We can only offer dinner, bed and breakfast packages when rooms are booked directly through the hotel, bookings made through third parties can be booked on bed and breakfast only.

  • how can we get to Lavenham by train from London. thanks

    From London, Liverpool Street go to Marks Tey which is on the main Norwich line, change at Marks Tey to Sudbury and Sudbury is then a 10 minute taxi journey to Lavenham. Taxi’s are available at the station or we can arrange one for you.

  • Do you have any rooms with walk-in showers?

    We have just one room with only a walk in shower which is a Gainsborough room, this can only be booked and guaranteed by booking direct with the hotel.

  • We are looking to book the grand deluxe room for two for one night in the week , Wednesday onwards this week. Is the spa and pool open ? Is there any deal for that room type for 2 nights? Please advise. We love fish food so what would be best night for food? Please let me know ASAP Thankyou

    Our SPA is open as of 1st August with limited facilities and treatments. We do have packages available and we do have fish options on the menu.
