This was at least the 5th occasion that we have stayed at The Crown and while the management have changed over the years, the high quality of service, food and accommodation have never wavered.

The room was well equipped and very nicely decorated, beds very comfy, service all very good, restaurant was lovely, breakfast and dinner very good.

Lovely setting and building. Beautiful bathroom and comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent - great choice, well cooked, unlimited toast, coffee etc. Dinner was also great - intelligent menu, well cooked, fresh fish, good wine. Service was superb, dealt with each issue that came up during our stay. Staff well trained, professional and friendly. I don't really like giving gushing reviews in case the place becomes too popular in future, but I really thought the Crown stood out and I really appreciated the efforts of all in the team.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, we had lovely cream tea when we arrived, breakfast each morning had good choice and nicely cooked, evening dinner was excellent. The garden, conservatory and inside areas allowed for lots of choice of seating and relaxing.

Our room was beautifully decorated, had a large en suite bathroom with roll-top bath, tea / coffee making facilities, large TV with Netflix, king sized bed and everything we could need. The inn is very dog friendly and our dig could accompany us for meals in the parlour area of the restaurant. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Although not on the breakfast menu, they made me a veggie breakfast.

  • Do all of your bedrooms have sloping ceilings? I don't really like them and my husband is very tall so its not really comfortable for us.

  • I have a disability buggy and need to know how disabled friendly you are. I have limited mobility and would prefer only one flight of staits

    We have rooms that are on the ground floor and have a specifically accessible room, if you need. All of our other rooms are accessible via a single set of stairs. Please let us know what will suit you best when you book.
