After having to leave The Hampshire Court hotel due to it's dangerous and filthy condition. I had to find a hotel at very short notice. Audleys Wood had availability at a higher price than I had paid at the pig pen, but if I had known how beautiful this hotel was and how fantastic the staff where I would be more than happy to have booked there first. My deepest thanks go to all the staff, from the night Porter to the hotel Manager that saved our weekend away.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was a lot bigger than imagined and had air conditioning, the bed was bigger than a double and had plenty of pillows. The room and bathroom were very clean. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was fantastic, the breakfast was really good, they have hot items made to order. Although they did add a service charge without notifying us when we had our evening meal there.

First off, the grounds and hotel are breathtaking. The concierge went above and beyond to set up our transportation to Jane Austen sites and for the following day to Highclere Castle. We loved it there!!!

    The fridge is the size of a mini fridge suitable for storing bottles of water, milk and small food items. You are welcome to order a takeaway as long as it is consumed in your room and not in public areas.

Audleys Wood Hotel in Basingstoke, Hampshire, was a much loved home for much of its life and it is perhaps this episode in its history that gives the mansion such warmth and comfort to this day. Built in the 1880s as a private home for Thomas Pain, it subsequently enjoyed a rich and colourful history, with owners and visitors including the rich and famous. Today it is a 72 bedroom, 4 star hotel surrounded by woodlands and seven acres of private grounds. The hotel offers a range of bedrooms, from Classic to Feature rooms. Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure, Audleys Wood has so much to offer.
