Loved the little touches like chocolates in reception. Great parking. Really nice garden and and a covered conservatory area. Lovely decor throughout. Very tasty breakfast and a warm and really friendly host. What's not to love? The hotel is in a quiet village. About 15 mins drive to Durham. We thoroughly recommend this hotel ❤

United KingdomThe staff and proprietor provided a perfect example of friendly excellent service without being intrusive. Breakfast was fresh, well prepared and with quality ingredients as was the "top-end-pub standard" dinner in the restaurant. Spotlessly clean with nice touches like fresh milk, juices, chilled water and biscuits plentiful besides the standard tea/coffee. While set in the middle of a former mining village, it has a terrace backing on to open fields and easy access to walks in the countryside and by rivers as well as being central to many major attractions. Great value for money
