A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week.
Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week. There is a limited choice at the best of times, but most places seem to be closed on a Tuesday (and maybe some other days as well).
A tour of Tarbert itself only takes half an hour or less, but it is in an attractive setting. I suggest you pass through in the daytime, have a coffee in Cafe Ca'Dora, buy local whisky from the specialist local seller, and move on.

Tarbert is a lovely little seaside fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyle. It's a nice location with great facilities for a small village. We ate in the Stonefield Castle restaurant about two miles from the village. The setting and view from the dining room were outstanding, both the service and food were excellent.
We loved everything about our stay here. Our room (Arran) faced the harbour/marina and we parked just along from hotel (free). Owners Mark and Aly are a lovely, friendly, helpful couple and a great example of B & B hosts who care about their guests. Aly’s Mexican porridge has to be tried, definitely something I will try to do at home. Everything you could want for breakfast is on offer and nicely presented. This would definitely be the place we would stay if we ever go back to Tarbert.
Breakfast was excellent. Peter makes homemade bread and great porridge and coffee.
The views are fabulous of Loch Fyne and the rock and spring landscape in front of the house are spectacular and unique. Tarbert is a beautiful town, very picturesque. Enjoyed a drive down to Skipness and the old castle there.
Peter and Louise were very gracious hosts.
Large clean room with a small fridge, sitting area and satellite TV. Free parking outside was a bonus and there are nice views over the small harbour. Although our private bathroom was located outside, but near, the room, it was large with a walk in shower and plenty of hot water and very clean. A good budget hotel room.
The staff was really nice, and apologetic after mismanaging our room, and since there was no other options we ended facing the back instead of the harbour, but got a discount to minimize the inconvenience. Food at dinner was nice and not expensive
The barge is definitely a unique place to stay at! The landscape is fantastic, and it is located next to a hotel that offers breakfast to non-residents as well as a pub. The room we had (No 3) was of good size and the view was stunning!
TV channel selection was good.
Bed: comfortable bed, soft mattress.
Location of Hotel excellent.
Staff: friendly enough and did they did try.
Room: comfortable feel.
COVID-19: good signage and adherence to protocol and restrictions.
The Starfish Rooms and very well situated in the lovely Tarbert Harbour ,I didn`t use the restaurant because of the COVID rules , but it looks very nice indeed , the staff were very nice , the room clean and well presented ,
The food is excellent, as are the staff.
The Polish girl was always very bubbly and an asset to the hotel.
The little noise outside at night on a warm evening is very acceptable, given the central location in Tarbert.
The cottage was set in a rural location with easy access to the harbour town of Tarbert. The area was breathtakingly stunning. And the scuba diving and fresh caught scallops were unbelievable.
The room was large and the adjacent shower room was good. The location is great right in the center of Tarbert and easy to connect to bus and ferry transport.
Fantastic, comfortable cottage in convenient location. Very pet friendly. Welcoming and helpful hosts. Lovely meals at Stonefield Castle Hotel next door.
Well appointed guest house. Lovely sitting room off the bedroom and excellent views of Tarbert harbour. Great location to explore Kintyre and surrounds.
