There is also a Fairy Glen which is an RSPB sanctuary complete with 2 beautiful waterfalls. Local busses stop only a 3 minute walk away to take you to the quaint coastal town of Cromarty or right into the heart of the beautiful city of Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. At Tigh Na Mara t is our passion to provide the very best service that we can and to make every guest’s stay a truly enjoyable experience. When we have time, we enjoy going on long walks along the beach with our lovely Labrador dog called Beau who adores swimming in the sea. He should not bother you though as we generally keep him out of guest areas, as we know not all our guests are dog lovers... but is you do want to meet him just ask and we can arrange it:) Sometimes the seals spy on us as we play ball with the dog- it’s like they want to join in! There are so many beautiful places to explore in the area even just on foot... We love the fact that Inverness is so close by and yet we are in such an idyllic location. We often sit in the garden and hear the call of the gulls, sheep baa-ing, cows moo-ing, bees buzzing and birds singing all at the same time. It is such a wonderful place to live and we are glad to share it with you. We hope that you will stay a while and experience it for yourselves! We know that you will love it as much as we do! We highly recommend stays of more than one night to be able to fully appreciate uniqueness of the local area and all that it has to offer.

Beach, golf and dolphins are the main attractions here! Dolphins, seals, porpoises, otters and whales can all be spotted from Chanonry Point which is only a short walk away along the beach. Popular holiday activities include fishing, sailing, walking, swimming, snorkelling and kayaking… There are several lovely places to eat and drink only a few short footsteps away from Tigh Na Mara. The nearest, Crofters Bistro is only two doors down the road and it, the local Beach Café, the Plough Inn and Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Course all serve food. There are several more excellent eateries and watering holes within a 15-minute walk in the nearby town of Fortrose. The Highland scenery is absolutely stunning so wherever you venture roundabout, you will be in for a treat! Not to be missed is a visit to Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal and don’t forget to visit the odd castle or two! Then there are the whiskey trails where you can also sample the local Scotch or visit the nearby Black Isle Brewery. Inverness only a few minutes drive away offers all the vibrance and culture you would expect from a city including live music, theatre, shopping and excellent cuisine and bars.
