Established in 2017, Bolthole Retreats markets and lets some of the finest luxury holiday properties throughout the Cotswolds, taking in the counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, South Warwickshire and Worcestershire and parts of Wiltshire and Bath and northeast Somerset in the south. We have an ever-growing portfolio of beautiful homes, from cosy cottages that sleep two through to large properties that can accommodate up to 18 guests. Timber Lodge is a peaceful couples retreat, just a stone’s throw from the pretty town of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace. Tucked into a quiet courtyard, this spacious and thoughtfully designed escape boasts an open plan ground floor, a private terrace, and a stylish super-king bedroom and ensuite bathroom on the first floor. This is a place where you can enjoy the best of both worlds, there are countryside walks from the front door and the Oxfordshire Way, which meanders from Bourton-on-the-Water all the way to the River Thames in Henley, is nearby. There is also easy access to the glorious city of Oxford, or the myriad delights of the Bicester Village Designer Outlet, as well as the beautiful landscapes, charming villages, and many attractions of the Cotswolds. Designed to make the most of the space available, Timber Lodge has a spacious open-plan living ground floor with retro feel. A large sofa ensures plenty of comfy seating, there’s a contemporary marble dining table and a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed for a self-catering stay. There’s also a ground floor cloakroom. Beyond two sets of double doors is a private terrace where you can enjoy alfresco meals or drinks in the sunshine. The first floor encompasses the super-king size bedroom, where you’ll find oodles of space to relax and unwind along with a well-appointed en-suite shower room. The private terrace means you can relax in the fresh air or enjoy a drink as the sun goes down. There are two private parking spaces in the courtyard.

Tackley is a charming village with a strong sense of community. The Village Shop is run by the locals and offers a wide range of groceries, newspapers, locally grown produce and freshly baked goods. The Village Hall hosts a pop-up pub on a Friday, which is well supported and a wonderful way to meet the locals. Woodstock and Blenheim Palace are just three miles away, whilst the ancient university city of Oxford is only 10 miles away. There is a bus stop with a direct service to Oxford moments away and a direct rail link to Oxford, London, and Bicester Village, within walking distance. Farm shops, delis, and shopping: The community shop in Tackley is a great place to pick up local produce, fresh bread and baked items as well as locally produced wines and beer. The Bicester Village Designer Outlet is 10 miles, or you can hop on the train. In Woodstock you’ll find a range of independent shops and boutiques, whilst in Oxford there is a huge range of shops including the Westgate Shopping Centre.
