Lots of nice pubs, farm shops and tea rooms to visit too. Very well equipped with microwave, toaster, coffee machine and oven. Comfortable bed.

  • Hi I’m interested in renting this for a couple of days in August is it on the grounds of another property or is it on its own in isolation? Thanks 

    Our lovely cottage is in a separate plot on the edge of our home grounds - it is completely fenced off from our drive and our house and our barn.

  • We need a rental property for a month while work is being carried out on our house. We have two house cats that we want with us, would you allow this. We would be happy to pay a higher deposit if necessary.?

    We usually expect dogs to be the visiting pets but so long as the cats are well behaved and you accept that any damage cause will be your responsibility we are willing to accept them paying the usual £20 fee for the pets however long your stay.

  • There seems to be 2 different prices for this cottage...looks like only the one cottage...Which is the correct price?

    There are different rates because we have discounts for longer bookings. The longer the lower the prices.

  • Is the outdoor area safe for small children (4 & 7) to play? Are there any dogs around the property that could get in the garden area? How far is from the main road?

    Yes the large patio near to the cottage is safe & fenced. Children using the garden should be supervised as there is a pond. There are no dogs with access to the cottage areas. The lane is 100 meters away but the patio and the garden are both fenced.

    The Cancelation fee varies according to which rate you choose and how early before your booked arrival you cancelled - these are always available for you to see when you make a booking before the booking is finalised by clicking the policy button

  • Hello - we'd love to book Tovey Lodge from Monday 11th October - Friday 15th. We have a small Cavachon dog who does not shed hair! Can you please explain why there are two prices for the dates we want - one is £286 and one is £300

    We welcome well behaved sociable dogs and there is a small fee of £20 however long your stay in Tovey Lodge Cottage. Prices vary according to booking terms such as prepaid non refundable or more flexible and according to seasons and duration of stay.

    We are welcome guests well behaved sociable dogs - there is a fee of £20 however long your visit and the owners must accept responsibility to see the dogs do not cause damage or nuisance

  • We're looking for somewhere to stay near to Ditchling, next July, when we are attending a wedding. However, we are anxious about booking anywhere without a full cancellation policy, as the dates have already changed twice. Is there any flexibility in this respect?

    We have published that if you are prevented from travelling or we from hosting by Covid regulations we will change the dates without cost or loss of deposits paid.

We bring a unique experience to all our guests in our cute cottage at Tovey Lodge which makes such a comfortable and convenient base to visit the area walk the downs and live it up in Brighton. You will relish the convenience of all the joys of the Sussex coast from Eastbourne to Worthing being within a few minutes drive time. Theres a lovely patio with outdoor furniture with a nice garden area and a second rather wild garden as well. All fenced in for dogs and kids to be safe.

We are a retired couple who couldn't bare to leave when all our 'kids flew the nest'. Rather than leaving this comfy cottage stand idle in a wonderful situation with beautiful surroundings we have invited people to join us here!

We are so fortunate to be in the South Downs National park with so much protected beautiful open space - great for walking cycling and all sorts of outdoor pursuits even having 11 golf courses with half an hour drive! History abound with many stately and historic homes and building nearby more than 10 National Trust as well as English Heritage, Sussex Archaeological Society and privately held sites all open for your visits. For culture we have a stunning recently reimagined Museum of the Arts and Crafts movement in the village as so many had been resident in the Ditchling 'artists colony', Lewes nearby has much to see and enjoy and Brighton is famous for its eclectic mix of high and pop cultural activities. All in all a wonderful place to live and to visit.
