Definitely need a car to get around this area.
Definitely need a car to get around this area. Not quite the luxury I was looking for. Accomodation and breakfast where I stayed was fairly basic. Quite limited in eating out options too.
Managed to walk the Pen y Fan which was the highlight of my stay here.

Nice town with some lovely places to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Friendly bar with live music at the weekend. Also there is a Wetherspoon. The Zip World was only a 30 min drive away and is fantastic. Great scenery and walks near by.

Only stayed 2 days and then was at an event so not enough time to explore. However on an evening plenty of places to eat and drink. Tesco Extra and range of other shops incl. Saturday street market. Train and bus transport hub, and plenty of places to explore a short distance away.

Liked the fact it has good public transport links to the Brecon Beacons the town itself looks a bit run down in places like many these days but had everything we needed with lots of things to do nearby. We enjoyed climbing Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, visiting Lyn Cwm Llwch, walking along parts of the Taff Trail, visiting The Brecon Mountain Railway, Cyfarthfa Castle and park as well as things further a field.

We saw lots of cyclists whilst traveling in our car. Found the area very dog friendly which suited us .

Centre -lovely trails and views.
Also the Brecon Beacons were within easy reach.
We ate at Nant Ddu the first night and shared 3 tasty side dishes between us.
Not too far from 3 near locations where my Dad was born and lived in Penwhriceiber, Cefn Pennar and Mountain Ash. Able to visit as near.
Excellent hosts sharing plenty of tips for hikes in this area and also other parts of Wales (Gower and St Davids). They also suggested the Big Pit National Coal museum, which I found a must-do to understand the industrial history of the area.
Excellent breakfast, lots of choice.
Comfortable bed and room. Very clean.
Also had a UK adapter in the room for charging devices (in case you'd forgotten it or wanted to charge multiple).
Parking on the premises.
Location in South Wales is good; there are main roads nearby that link you to bigger towns and the mountains. There are ample fuel stations and big shops/supermarkets nearby. The room was clean and had supplies of towels etc. Communication from the owners was good (although the 'suggestions' emails could have been cut down a little - one would have been OK). The property had free parking available in a large car park behind the property. Shower was fine.
The studio is a good size and has a good bathroom and kitchen with everything you need. It is in a convenient location for bike park Wales. There is a large public car park at the rear which was very handy. James the owner is very responsive and came out almost immediately when we had an issue with the electric at 9:30pm on a Sun night, which was quickly fixed. He also sent us lots of info pre-arrival which was very useful.
First impression on entering the hotel, was....oh gosh this is lovely. All areas were very clean. Decoration immaculate throughout. Staff very friendly, very polite and welcoming. Reasonable priced drinks at the bar. Bedrooms very spacious with a good sized bathroom, with an amazingly powerful shower over the bath. I would recommend this Hotel to all who are visiting the area we will be returning that's for sure.
Fantastic location for what we were in the Brecon's for - hiking. Extremely easy to find and check in was stress free. Rooms were very spacious, clean and the amenities were great (especially the bath's in every room we had, full of cold water after a long day in the mountains!). Great breakfast and stroll down to the beautiful reservoir in the morning. Highly recommend!
We are an active family of 5 and the house suited us perfectly'. The house was fully furnished and in great condition and location! Gavin the owner was excellent and on call if we needed anything at all which we didn't. If we go to south wales again we will definitely book this property before going anywhere else! Can't fault this property at all. 👍👍
Loved the amount of space you get for parking and open space. Bike lockup was spot on and not noticable. Living room was great so was the kitchen. Bedrooms were spot on with a large bathroom. Location was fantastic. 10 minutes from BPW. Nice and quiet high up in the hills. We didn't struggle with takeaways. We'll definitely be back next year.
Restaurants food was exceptional. Carvery was same as other carveries in major chains but all food appeared to be home made. We gave the hotel restaurant a go on night 1 and went back again night 2. Staff were really friendly when you could find them as they all multitasked. Room size was great, both our rooms had double and single beds in.
A great location in a quiet spot, with lovely views across the valley. It was the perfect location for access to Merthyr Tydfil, and also to Bike Park Wales. Richard was really helpful in the lead up to the stay, and sent across all the information we needed to ensure everything was plain sailing from arrival to departure.
The property is located within easy reach of many areas of interest in the Brecons - typically a 30 minute drive. There is an excellent Chinese take-away within 5 minutes walk from the property. The owner/manager did respond quickly to help when we needed to switch on the central heating.
Location and size are great for a group. The kitchen and spaces to get cleaned up were worth the extra cost over a normal hotel room.
Bike storage was excellent but could do with a light or torch to help getting in, in the dark.
The property is lovely and clean, well equipped with all you would need.
Cozy little place.
We use hotels a lot and also have a couple of our own holiday let's.
This place is good.
We will be definitely coming back.
Ideal place to stay. Clean room with smart TV and great to have the shared kitchen to be able to prepare food.
Will definitely stay again next time we have work in the area.
