everything was perfect. location is amazing. very cozy and clean had a lovely time Chris is very helpful and friendly any questions we had were answered straight away. for the age of the house it’s amazing how cozy and warm it is would love to return again.

Paradise is where I grew up and where my musical and Bohemdian parents moved to in 1963 when they left London to have an adventure in Cornwall. It's made of cob which is stones, earth, straw and I've even seen sheep skulls in the walls! Build in the mid-1600s, it reportedly was a girl's school. Refurbished throughout we hope you enjoy the stylish, modern amenities with a sense of history and curvy walls that would suit Hobbits. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms in a unusual layout from the history of the property: - the master bedroom with a riverside view - the 'owl' room, a small cosy room with a small double bed (122x190cm), and - the garden bedroom. You can get down to the kitchen and front doors from the garden bedroom though french windows out onto steps also leading up to the garden. To go downstairs from the bathroom and owl room, you have to walk through the master bedroom. This is why children and people coming to parties at Paradise have always enjoyed the space, because you can go round in lots of circles! The bathroom is what's known as a 'Jack & Jill' layout so you can get into it from two directions – the garden bedroom, and the corridor leading from the master bedroom and owl room. Don't worry both doors have locks! The garden bedroom has a bed which we can set as a single or a double - just let us know. You can fairly easily put it away into a single during the day and pull it out as a double at night - if you'd rather have the space.
I'm Patrick and I play the piano and accordion - hence the good piano in the cottage - and follow my parents in being creative and Bohemian. Although I wouldn't call myself Cornish, I love Cornwall - its countryside, music, food and drinks (now not just local beer but also many gins!). I share my time between Golant the village where Paradise is, Rio and London. I work as an advisor in the creative, cultural and digital sectors.
Golant is a strong and friendly community of 350 souls with a 11th Century church, the Fisherman's Arms with food run by Nick, a rowing club and stand up paddle company. You're in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a valley looking out onto the River Fowey and almost unpopulated tree-filled banks opposite. Fowey the nearest town is a 40 minute walk or 10 minute drive away. Further afield you're close to the Eden Project, food and shops in the stannery town of Lostwithiel and larger supermarkets in St Austell.
