Although sadly a cooked breakfast was not offered due to Covid, the alternatives offered were great - particularly the homemade compote. The hosts went above and beyond in terms of being helpful: dropping us off at places we wanted to go to nearby and booking something on our behalf that we hadn't appreciated needed to be booked. The room we were in had lot's of character - with no shortage of books to read should we have needed reading material! The hosts also offered up use of their living room as somewhere to sit/read. The bathroom we had use of was very large and well decorated with both a bath and separate shower.

Breakfast Fantastic, home made everything you’d wish for. Hosts extremely attentive anything you needed was provided.

friendly professional service whilst still feeling like home

Such lovely attention to detail! The breakfast was home-made and laid out in a very pretty dining room. The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was large and stylish. But it was the hospitality which made the whole experience truly delightful. Thank you!

Can not praise it enough. Such a warm and friendly welcome with tea and home made flap jack's by a roaring fire. Room was excellent with a very comfy bed. Such a lovely place, thank you.

The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast, it was cooked well and made from local produce.

Fantastic breakfast. Loved the sherry and flapjack. Caroline has a great eye for detail. In general, an excellent stop-over.

Checking in was really nice we had tea and cake on entry , very friendly and helpful

The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, securing us a table for dinner At the Chapel - highly recommended.

We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. They were very helpful and are located in perfect walking distance into town. Breakfast was delicious with a rich variety of flavours and options.

We have a beautiful Victorian house set in the middle of Bruton. Cosy and welcoming and we look forward to meeting you with our range of beautiful teas and homemade flapjacks! Bruton is a small mediaeval Somerset town just off the A303. St. Mary's church, Sexey's Hospital with its old almshouses and delightful gardens, ancient bartons, riverside walks and the 15th Dovecot will enhance a lovely stay in this intriguing town. A short distance from numerous amenities including railway station, shops, cafes, bistros, and renowned Hauser and Wirth contemporary art gallery. A perfect location for day trips to Bath, a visit to NEWT IN SOMERSET GARDENS (5 mins up the road)
We love walking, going to the theatre, playing tennis and golf, gardening and curling up by the fire reading.
Come and see HAUSER & WIRTH Art Gallery with beautiful gardens by Piet Odolf. Near us we have Stourhead House and Gardens. Now we have the amazing gardens and restaurant: NEWT IN SOMERSETWritten by the Daily Telegraph in June "driving along the A371 in Somerset, the first sign that something unusual is afoot is a new tunnel beneath the road flanked by fields of newly planted apple trees. “If you think that’s impressive, wait till you see the rest of The Newt,” says my grinning taxi driver. “We went two weeks ago, and it is not like anything you will have ever seen.”
