Loved the peaceful location. Hadn’t realised that there were no local shops at all apart from the (excellent pub). Lovely cottage and Christine was always immediately on hand to answer any queries.

We love travel ourselves and try to take holidays in other cottages to enhance our guest experience
Property info
The cottage is set in the middle of three cottages. It is cosy and warm for out of season breaks. The open plan lounge kitchen area has all modern equipment including a hidden dishwasher.Upstairs is a large walk in shower with rainhead and flexible shower. This is ensuite next to the double bedroom with its own tv and tea making facilities. WiFi is free of course. It is in the centre of this conservation village along a small lane and unusually the garden and parking space are about 25 miles from the house. We have tried to make all our improvements environmentally friendly and so have energy efficient boiler and p.v. panels to generate electricity. Being only five miles from the coast it has all the advantages of country and seaside
Neighborhood info
The conservation village of Paxton is close to the Palladian House and picture gallery, Paxton House. There are wonderful riverside walks through the grounds only five minute walk away. The village inn is having a major refurb and will be a great asset again shortly though there are other great eating palaces in Allanton and in Berwick only four miles away.A ten minute drive will bring you to the tidal causeway that leads to Holy Island. Duns, with its connection to the racing driver Jim Clark is six miles inland and so you can visit the Trophy room and also Manderston House and gardens. Being only a short drive to the coast it is easy to walk along the sandy beachesm of Coldingham and Spittal, Berwick and buy fresh fish from Eyemouth. Frequent trains take you to Edinburgh in only 45 minutes. This very well equipped cosy cottage is ideal for a single guest or a couple. One pet is welcome
