Our room was large and well furnished, warm and quiet. with a view of fields and hills from the window. In particular, the facilities for disabled persons in the bathroom were excellent, the best-considered and most substantial of any that I have found in a great deal of travelling as a disabled person.

Fantastic walks round the old race course, and loch.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The lady owner very kindly gave us a lift to our next hotel.
Hoping to return with my grandaughter, as she would love looking at the horses.

A lovely town surrounded by beautiful countryside - a bit like stepping back in time - One gets a feeling little has changed over the years - Some wonderful surprises however as there is a new cafe on the high street - fabulous food and ambience - delicious coffee - Lack of a proper sign would have you walk by if you're not paying attention! An exceptional bookshop and some wonderful craft shops are worth checking out - including a very interesting gallery/ clothes shop full of colourful murals and state of the art crafts and cards. A good mix of old and new!

Lovely wee town, plenty places to eat, have coffee or a drink and we went a lovely walk down past the pharmacy and past the schools, takes you down past the golf course to a little boating pond you can walk around and come back the other side of the golf course. Recommended to us by the guy in the Elphenstone Hotel.

We were quite late arriving but we were still welcomed and shown to our lovely, bright, large room. There was a fridge with milk and water in, which for me was great as I dislike the little pods of milk. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits too. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed our breakfast. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The Crown pub was a cosy place for a drink.

A lovely little gem.
A lovely little gem. Lots of interesting shops cafes bars and restaurants. Great views to the surrounding hills. The Bigger and Clydesdale museum is well worth a visit. We spent a lot of time in there. Particularly liked the old street and there is lots of information on the origins and history of the town. The Cross Keys was full of friendly locals and a lovely friendly barmaid and the food was good in the Elphinstone and the Barony. Highly recommend a visit to Biggar.

A decent array of independent shops with all the essentials covered. Post Office, restaurants, pubs and hotels. Quite difficult to get a meal as most places booked up due to COVID restrictions. A little scruffy in places but not too bad overall.
The location was perfect for us - within a 20 minute drive to the wedding venue. We also loved the little village of BIggar - very warm and plenty of nice places to get food. The house was impeccable - it felt like someone's very loved, incredibly designed and extremely well-cared for home.
Every time I thought 'I could do with...' I would find it in one of the cupboards or drawers. We felt very at home and sad we were only staying for 2 nights!
Breakfast was very good with a variety of things on offer. Our host was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, also suggesting where we could visit and providing us with a local taxi number. Location was in beautiful surroundings and very quiet only a few minutes drive into Biggar, where we had an enjoyable meal in one of the local pubs. If we are ever in the area again we would certainly book again.
it’s more an Inn than a hotel as it’s a family run place so there’s no reception 24/7. they are so welcoming and happy to let us check in early to get ready for wedding at Cornhill Castle. staff were all so friendly and welcoming and even recommended where to park to avoid traffic wardens.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book here if you are struggling for a place to stay near Cornhill. Breakfast was great service!
Lovely room in a beautiful house with an amazing host! Would recommend to anyone needing to stay in the area. The bed was so comfortable and it was so quiet and peaceful overnight I had an amazing sleep. The host was so welcoming I honestly felt like I was speaking with a family member, made me feel so at home and could not have been more helpful. Literally feel like it was such a bargain.
Great location, ideal for Cornhill house to attend a wedding. Short taxi ride using Big Red taxis reliable and very friendly as was all the hotel staff. Ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Great choice and very good food and drinks.
Will use again with no hesitation
The full breakfast was delicious well cooked. The service was fast. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful during our stay and made you feel welcome. The bedroom was cosy and clean and beds very comfortable. Great location to stay to explore the area
Charles, the owner, went out of his way to look after us, despite us only staying for one night. Very comfortable and really close to the main street in Biggar. I'd recommend staying here.
The studio was lovely. Everything you would need for a nice stay in Biggar. Helen was easy to communicate with and very accommodating! Would love to stay again!
