“The breakfast is really excellent with lots of variety. There's the classic English breakfast, plus a vegetarian version. Continental breakfast is also available, as well as fruit salads, cereals... basically everything! Location is directly between Ambleside town centre and the pier on lake Windermere (both 5 min walks.) There's a bus stop directly outside, and the buses from that stop will pretty much take you all over the lakes. The room was perfectly clean and the very comfortable with great views of the fells. The hotel owners are lovely people, very helpful and accommodating, so no complaints anywhere!”

“Located about a quarter of a mile from the centre of Ambleside, the Wanslea is in an ideal location. Perfect walking distance from the local amenities. And plenty of walking on the doorstep to save travelling elsewhere for a decent walk. Tina and Steve are really friendly and welcoming - and they make a fantastic breakfast - lovely, thick-cut bacon and local sausage. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard, with the warmest duvet I've ever slept under.”
