United KingdomJane was a wonderful host, and breakfast was absolutely lovely. Great location right in the centre of Thornton-le-Dale, which is a quaint little village. Room was clean, quiet, and well furnished. Bedding was reasonably comfy.
United KingdomThe breakfast was very good, lots of it and good quality tasty ingredients. The room was a good size with plenty of space to move about in and it had a very comfy bed. The location was excellent being right in the middle of Thornton le Dale near to the pubs and eateries but also very close to Dalby Forest which is just up the road.

An old coaching inn, Warrington House stands proud along Whitbygate. Its York sandstone construction in keeping with many properties in the village makes this three storey building handsome in feature. Upon entry to the ground floor you will find a small welcoming coffee shop and restaurant, catering for all from morning coffee through homemade lunches to afternoon tea. On the first floor you will find two ensuite rooms and a small reading room and on the second floor you will find two further ensuite rooms. The layout and decoration is in keeping with the character of this lovely old building.
Jane and Jonathan moved to Warrington House in October 2002 in which time they have built a well respected business both in the accommodation market and the successful tea room and coffee shop. We moved to Thornton Le Dale from Cambridge when our son James was just three years old, it has been a pleasure to bring our son up amongst many returning customers who have become good friends in such an idyllic village location. Keeping a little bit of Cambridge within Warrington House, each room is named after a Cambridge College.
Thornton Le Dale is an idyllic little village set on the southern fringe of the North Yorkshire Moors. It falls within the NYMNP boundary and is a perfect retreat to base yourself to explore both moors and coast. With its pretty tumbling beck originating above Dalby Forest and running down through the village it is adorned by many pretty stone built cottages and buildings of interest including the beautiful Almshouses and 'Famous' Thatched Cottage. Dalby is home to one of Englands premier mountain bike courses and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Pickering is just 1 mile away home of the Pickering Steam Railway which has daily runs through to Whitby some 30 miles away. Scarborough and Filey are under 30 minutes away and York just 45 minutes. The village is served by two good bus routes. Pubs, Restaurants, Gift Shops and a Museum create a busy tourist hub and offer so many things for all different people to fulfill their visits.
