Amazing location -a little piece of Paradise outside of time. We arrived just in time for the flying display which was mesmerising, my husband was like a little boy utterly spellbound. Quiet, lovely room in the farmhouse with separate bathroom overlooking the stables both behind another door guaranteeing privacy. Cathy provided a good, substantial cooked breakfast with really fresh ingredients ( free ranging chickens = ultra fresh eggs) as well as cereals and toast which started each day positively. Highly recommended
United KingdomStunning location near a river, the sea and gorgeous Exmoor hikes. The resident ponies, hens, cockerels and other wildlife enhance the experience considerably. Very friendly and welcoming hosts.
United KingdomKathy made us and our Lab freddie so welcome from the moment we stepped thru the historical front door. There was a beautiful log burner goin, and very comfortable sofa's. We felt totally relaxed after such an awful year. We did not watch any tele all weekend. We had a wonderful cooked breakfast. Thankyou so much Kathy.
United KingdomThe cottage was beautiful and showed all it's characteristics perfectly. You couldn't stay in a more picturesque location; just like the movies. Hosts were fantastic with our pet, had everything we and he needed.
United KingdomReally lovely old house and super welcoming. The owl sanctuary was brilliant
PeruBeautiful, peaceful surroundings. Owners very helpful and friendly.
United KingdomEverything here encourages rest, relaxation and peacefulness. If you enjoy waking up to the sounds of nature then this is the place. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in a very comfortable room with large ensuite. The breakfasts and cream teas were excellent. Our dog has never been happy when staying in a B&B. The surrounding countryside and coast walks are right on the doorstep. We will visit again and take advantage of the horse riding.
United KingdomSurroundings are lovely, food was excellent. Our room under the thatch was cool despite the heat wave. We were made very welcome and enjoyed flying the owls and Harris hawk.
United KingdomExcellent location, large room with separate bathroom, excellent breakfast.
United KingdomThe room was large, warm & comfortable with a huge private bathroom. An extra door made this a private area. Breakfast was also large & very tasty - wonderful marmalade!

Property info
Our 15th century farmhouse home was a beautiful small openhall manor-house with amazing medieval architectural features throughout the house and surrounding barns, including a round house and ancient threshing barn. The rooms are all large and spacious, and comfotably furnished with a homely welcoming feel. Each bedroom has a charming shower-room for it's own use, and the dining room/lounge has an amazing ancient hearth, wood burner, and comfortable sofas for relaxing and enjoying a rural retreat. Adjacent to the house we have a lovely small collection of owls and hawks for bird of prey flying experiences, and a yard of twelve magnificent barefoot horses for riding over the surrounding Exmoor moorl hills around Selworthy, North Hill, Bossington Beacon, Webbers Post and Dunkery, offering spectacular views to the sea and moor.
Neighborhood info
Our farmhouse is situated between the tiny hamlets of Allerford and Bossington, just off the A39 one mile from Porlock. We are just one mile from the sea, with a deserted shingle beach, Bossington Beach in the Vale of Porlock. The Vale is surrounded by magnificent wooded hills and open moorland, offering endless walking countryside - Coming out of Minehead up Grabbist Hill, Dunkery Beacon, Ley Hill, Webbers Post, and Porlock Hill to the south, and Bossington Hill, Selworthy Beacon, North Hill and beyong on the north side. All this land is the National Trust Holnicote Estate, where farmers and talented families derive their income through working sustainably with the countryside - custodians of the houses and cottages within the Holnicote Estate, in true connection with the environment. The area has some lovely local attractions including Dunster Castle and the West Somerset Railway, quintessential villages of Dunster, Porlock, Exford, Winsford and Lynton and Lynmouth. On our farm we offer horse riding on barefoot horses over the moor, and owl and hawk Experiences at Exmoor Experience, hosting Exmoor Owl and Hawk Centre, and Exmoor Riding - all very small and unique!
