United KingdomGreeting & all members of staff v pleasant. Lovely to see a garden with flowers in front of the hotel. Location is quite close to York city centre so walkable saving parking charges. Room was ok for our one night, nothing special but had all we needed.

VietnamLove this hotel, always a friendly greeting & the staff make you feel you're welcome. Room warm & cosy & well equipped & the beds comfy & love the cotton bedding + plenty of toiletries & fluffy towels. A well stocked bar reasonably priced in comfortable surroundings.Breakfast floats my boat as does hotel & only minutes to the centre + some parking too. For York a must. FP.

The great thing about Wheatlands Lodge is that it is family owned and run. We've been doing it for 35 years, and love what we do as we meet lots of lovely people from all over the world. As well as various family members working at the hotel on a daily basis (doing everything from cooking, reception, bar, decorating, odd jobs and generally looking after people!) we have many members of staff who have worked here for a good number of years and actually feel part of the family! Come and meet us all!
