The charm, character and beautiful location of Boggle Hole all exceeded our expectations. As did the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I highly recommend for those seeking a memorable and enjoyable, if a bit quirky, stay on the Yorkshire coast. All in all a wonderful respite that was memorable and fun. And the short walk to charming village in nearby Robins Hood Bay is a must do!

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Katie O who checked us in and served us food in the evening! The whole aesthetic of the hostel is fantastic, relaxed and very clean! Beds were comfy and was very warm inside. Fantastic location also with the beach right in front of your doorstep!

Located alongside the coast in North York Moors National Park, YHA Boggle Hole is next to a bay that was once an infamous smuggler’s cove. The property is set over 2 buildings, including an old mill and there are picnic areas and a courtyard.

Guests can search for fossils along the beach, and have fun exploring the rock pools for aquatic life. The charming fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay is just 10 minutes’ drive away.

YHA Boggle Hole has a peaceful garden and a lounge for guests to relax in. Parking is located 1,650 feet from the property. Wi-Fi is also available. Some rooms are set in the Crow's Nest, which is on the hillside and offers great valley views.

The historic Whitby Bay is just 20 minutes away by car. Guests can enjoy world-famous fish and chips at Harry Ramsdens in Scarborough, 30 minutes’ drive away.

The majority of rooms contain bunk beds.

  • Hi. We'd love to come and stay at Boggle Hole. Could we bring a retriever dog?

    Hello, I am very sorry but we do not allow dogs to stay at the hostel or in cars when guest are staying at the hostel. We do have other hostels that offer dogs to stay when you book a Tipi, Glamping Pod or camp on their site :)

  • Do you have any en suite rooms ? Is it full of young people ?

    Yes we have 3 bedded en-suite rooms located in the crows nest. We get a nice mix of people different ages.

  • Is it still shared dorms even with the current Covid situation? All of the YHA I’ve looked at recently have changed to your own room so no mixing.

    Currently we have taken dorm rooms off sale due to COVID-19. This results in only selling private rooms.

The maximum length of stay is 14 consecutive nights. Following any stay of 14 nights, guests may not stay in any YHA accommodations for at least seven nights.

ID will also be requested from all other adult guests. These IDs must match the name they sign in with at check in.
