Located in a Victorian villa in a quiet, tree-lined street, YHA Canterbury is just 15 minutes’ walk from Canterbury Cathedral. Guests can enjoy the cafe bar, TV lounge and games room.

Most rooms contain bunk beds, and all rooms have access to a shared bathroom.

  • There's a coking area?

    Hello. Sorry we do not have any cooking facilities in the Hostel at present, however there are dozens of restaurants on the doorstep that offer eat-in, takeaway or delivery options. Kind regards, Niki

    Yes. We have pay as you go lockers in our basement and if you are staying in dormitories there are padlock lockers.

  • If booking a dorm with five bunk beds for a party of five people will we have exclusive use of that dorm room?

    Do not book it as a dormitory as you may be split across multiple dormitory rooms. Always book as a private room if you want privacy.

  • I regularly work in Canterbury and have always liked to stay at the YHA. However this year I can't find any availability for any of my dates through Booking.com - is this the only way to book with you?

    Hi, On Monday 5th Sep we only have our cabins open which can be booked direct. The main hostel is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Hope to see you soon. Niki

  • We may be arriving around 9.30 p.m. Will we definitely be able to find a safe parking space?

    We do have seven parking spaces in front of the hostel. If these spaces are taken at he time of your arrival, you can park overnight for free on Rochester Avenue or St Laurence Rd.

  • Do I need a lock for the lockers?

    If you use the ones in the dormitories you can use your own locker. The basement lockers are pay as you go.

  • Can I use my own sleeping bag?

    No. For hygiene reasons we do not allow guests to bring bedding for our beds. All of our beds are supplied with freshly laundered and pressed linen on pillows and duvets.

  • Hi, I am a solo traveller. Is the twin room with shared bathroom a shared room also or is it private? Thanks.

    All of our bedrooms are private. YHA are not operating any dormitory style facility at present. If you have not booked an ensuite room, there are frequently cleaned showers and toilets on the same floor and around the building that you can use.
