OYO Carlton Court Hotel, hotel in Eastbourne

Located a 3-minute walk from Eastbourne Beach, OYO Carlton Court Hotel offers 3-star accommodations in Eastbourne and features a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar.

I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodation after reading so many negative comments about cleanliness and comfort. I found the hotel to be clean, in a good state of decor, the room was warm and the bed was very comfortable. My single room was more than adequate for my stay. Yes, the entrance door was closed when I arrived but a phone call to the number given resulted in my being admitted within minutes by a most welcoming gentleman. Location is great for theatres, the art gallery, the seafront and a short ten minute walk gets you into town. There is plenty of free street parking in the area and parking outside the hotel is permitted between 6pm and 8am.

Eastbourne is a friendly seaside town with a quirky array of conventional shops, charity shops and restaurants for all budgets and tastes. The streets are wide and generally clean. The only criticism is the parking. It is well populated and has a fair amount of visitors so finding a space on the street can be difficult. I stuck with the central NCP which saved time and a headache!

Beachfront location. Very close to lots of other amenities. Town centre a short walk away, with a variety of shops and eateries. Train station also nearby. Local bus route runs just behind hotel. But many conveniences located within a short walk. Eastbourne Wheel (seasonal attraction) is right opposite to Lansdowne hotel. The ONLY reason I continued to stay at this hotel after I found bed bugs in my room was because the staff are superb!! I can't fault their helpfulness, friendliness and willingness to put themselves out to help. They really deserve better. Other plus points: The is location perfect - right on the seafront, and an easy walk to the town centre (even with my walking frame). I also had brilliant sea views. To be fair, the beds were comfortable - despite the bed bugs!

what a great hotel, with fantastic views of the seafront and the pier. such easy access to all amenities. The included full English breakfast was absolutely delicious. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed at that actually had an adequate amount of milk for the tea that was provided in the room. They did have coffee too. The bed was really comfortable, the water was hot, and the owners were very friendly.

The size and location of the room in the hotel was good. Nice selection of biscuits and hot chocolate drink at bedtime. Although the room was at the back of the Hotel it was nice and quiet and just two small flights of stairs from the ground floor if the lift was engaged. Our stay was good value. A good selection of food at breakfast but would be nice to extend the time to 9.30 am

The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast at the moment but they can provide a really excellent bag with croissants, yoghurt, butter jam etc. at the reception. The hotel is in good condition and the location is convenient in a way (close to the beach) but non practical (there is a small, overpriced grocery store nearby and a sorry Tesco, a 15 minutes walk away). Nice elevators and good A/C. Close by "restaurants" are bad to awful and overpriced. Try the mall (20 mins walk)
