“We were on route to Newhaven ferry port and the location was great for that. The 'pod' we stayed in was clean and warm, even in November. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. The Cafe facilities were also very good. Great value for money, would stay again to explore the area.”

“As expected, the room was basic but clean. There were sinks in the rooms and plenty of shared toilets/showers near the room. The other shared facilities were spacious and comfortable. It was great to have access to a cafe for meals. The staff were very helpful. The price was affordable and made the stay possible.”

“Beautiful location. The camping pods are at the back of the hostel in a lovely location. Lots of birds and wildlife and we heard a nightingale sing 😊 You are right on the SDW and there are some fantastic walks on the doorstep.”

“I am a big fan of YHA generally, but this was the friendliest hostel I've stayed in and possibly the most efficient. A four-minute walk from the Southease train stop, it's a perfect location for exploring the South Downs on foot or bicycle. I arrived after 8pm, but the restaurant was still open--and the sandwich served was fresh, tasty and filling. Wine and beer were on hand as well. The dorms were as clean and well-equipped as most YHA Dorms, but I like the fact that they are in converted barns--it seems environmentally sound. The vegetarian breakfast was big, filling and served so fast I had no problem getting my train in the morning.”
